Thursday, January 3, 2013 N/Warren Town and County News Page Five I CHURCH and S OCIAL 1 Polk County Water and Land Legacy Initial Projects Public Hearing " The public is invited to attend the Polk County Con- servation Board Meeting Wednesday, Jail. 9, 5:30 p.m., at the Jester Park Lodge to participate in a public hear- ing on the proposed three-year project implementation plan as part of the Polk County Water and Land Legacy (PCWLL) Bond Referendum. A listing of these initial projects and descriptions will be posted on the Polk County Conservation website at www.leadingyououtdoors.org on January 7. November 6, voters supported the Polk County Water and Land Legacy Bond (PCWLL) in historic fash- ion passing the measure by 72%. As an outcome of this support, Polk County Conservation Board is respon- sive to public interest and communication about projects being delivered in the first three years of bond- ing. No individual with a disability will be excluded from participation in programs and activities conducted by Polk County Conservation. The din- ner was entirely a goodwill donation by all guests. This amount will be presented to the Wildwood Hills Ranch this week. The staff working that day were all volunteers and the majority of food served was donated by the Machine Shed ven- dors. "We are so grateful to our staff that took time from their families to help with this great cause, as well as the many guests that visited us that day and generously donated to the Ranch," states Steve Brit- ton, Manager of the Ma- chine Shed Restaurant. The camp costs an average of $800 per youth to attend for one week, this donation provides at least 17 youth to attend. The Machine Shed has been hosting the charity Thanksgiving Din- ner (on Thanksgiving day) for the past nine years and have donated more than $90,000 to the ranch.
