December 18th
Open Container/ False Information/ Drug
Equipment Violation/ Interference ~ 1400 block
Cherry Parkway. Rebecca Miner, Des Moines, was
arrested and charged with Open Container and
Interference with Official Acts. Passenger, Nicky
Holt, Des Moines, was arrested and charged with
False Information and Possession of Drug
Paraphernalia. Holt also had an active parole
violation Warrant. Both subjects were processed and
transported to the Warren County jail.
December 19th, V
Burglary/ Criminal Mischief 100 block Delaware.
Contractor reported a burglary and criminal mischief
at a construction site. Computer equipment and tools
were missing from that location. Stolen items were
recovered. Nicky Holt, and Rebecca Miner, both of
Des Moines, were charged with Burglary 3rd Degree
and Theft 2nd Degree. Report made.
December 20th
Drug Equipment Violation Beardsley & Sunset.
Martell Holloway- Simpson, Des Moines, was arrested
and charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,
and was cited for Failure to Yield to an Emergency
Vehicle and a speeding violation. Subject was
processed and released to appear at a later date.
December 2lst ,
Warrant Arrest 1700 block Merle Huff Ave.
Jennifer Vankerckvoorde, Norwalk, was arrested on

Theft 2900 block Cedar Street. A dosage of
medication was reported missing from a care facility.
Information was taken and a report made.
December 22nd
Impaired Driver 700 block Beardsley. Mitchell
Dewey, Norwalk, was arrested and charged with
Operating while Intoxicated, and was issued a
warning for a speeding violation. Subject was
procesSed and transported to the Warren County jail.
December 23rd
Impaired, Driver 2600 block S. Orilla Rd. Sean
Sullivan, Pensacola, Florida, was arrested and
charged with Operating while Intoxicated, and cited
for a speeding violation. Subject was processed and
transported to the Warren County jail.
December 24th
Suspended Driver/ Possession Alcohol Under Legal
Age Sunset & Columbine Dr. Jason Pena Mendez,
West Des Moines, was arrested and charged with
Driving while License Suspended and Possession of
Alcohol Under Age 21. Subject was cited to appear
at a later date, and was released.
Drug/Narcotic Violation - Sunset Dr & North Ave.
Cindy Miller, Norwalk, was arrested and charged
with Possession of Marijuana, Possession of a
Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Possession of
Prescription Drugs. Subject was processed and
transported to the Warren County jail.
December 24th
Warrant Arrest Marketplace Dr & Beardsley.
John Weatherly, Des Moines, was arrested on an
active Des Moines warrant for Domestic Assault.
Subject was processed and turned over to the Des
Moines Police Department.
December 26th
Criminal Mischief - 1200 block East 18th Street.
Windows were reported damaged on two vehicles
while parked at the Norwalk Aquatic Center.
Information was taken and reports were made.

NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES
Erech Hazen of Norwalk has been named to the
Fall 2018 Dean s List at Bradley University. Hazen
is majoring in Music & Entertainment Industry.
Those full-time students who earn a semester GPA
of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 grading scale are given the
distinction ofbeing placed on the University s Dean s
list for their outstanding scholastic achievement.

Midwestern State University recognized 1,194
honor students for the Fall 2018 semester. A student
who completes 12 hours in one semester with no
grade lower than A (4.0) will be included on the
President s Honor Roll. Shelbi Stogdill, Norwalk,
was included on the President s Honor Roll, Political
Science.
The honor roll lists for Graceland University s 2018
fall term have been announced. Students with a GPA
between 3.65 and 3.99 are named to the honors list.
Graceland commends the students who have devoted
their efforts and talents to their academic success.
Alison Lancelotti of Cumming is included on this
list.
South Suburban YMCA
Tae Kwon Do
The South Suburban YMCA offers Tae Kwon Do, a
self-defense-oriented martial art which stresses
building self-confidence and coordination, for
beginners and advanced. Year-round instruction is
led by Kirk Green, a Certi ed Instructor of the State
of Iowa Black Belt Association. The next session runs
January 8th through February 28th. For additional

Eden rest at The Legacy offers free fitness classes:
