Who Says Girls Can't Hunt Christmas at the
Twelve-year-old Maria Boden had a great 2009 deer season. Her first deer was
during youth season, a nine-pointer, and the secondone was during bow season,

"Christmas at the Library" was held Tuesday, Dec. 15. Approximately 200 people
attended to visit with Santa and his reindeer. Participants also colored mittens to
decorate the library and received goodies to take home. Adventures School of
Discovery provided refreshments for all. Photo submitted.
Norwalk Girl Scouts
The Norwalk Girl Scout Service Unit met Sunday, Dec. 6 at Crossroads Church for
a community service event. The girls recorded Christmas carols they sang to share
with the local Norwalk nursing home residents, along with homemade ornaments
and crafts. They also wrote special Christmas letters to send to our U,S. soldiers

In July, Grace Wood, the seven-year-old daughter of
Tom and Denise Wood of Norwalk, attended the Na-
tional Baton Twirling Association (NBTA) National Ba-
ton Contest at Notre Dame University where she was
named Little Miss Majorette of America 2009.
Miss Majorette of America is a three-part event. Wood
placed first in two of the events and second in the other
to win the top title in NBTA twirling for tiny tot twirl-
ers. She was named Little Miss Majorette of Iowa and
Little Miss Majorette of the North to qualify for the na-
tional contest. Wood also won the Tiny Tot National
Show Twirl Championship for the second year in a row.
She placed first in the Tiny Tot Advanced World Open
Solo Championship and placed in the top five in two-
baton and Grand National Solo Championships.
She is coached by Dawn Reed of Superstars Perform-
ing Arts and Diana Reed of New York.
Community State Bank had a bicycle drawing at each
of its six locations. The Norwalk Branch winner was
Carter Davidson, age 7. He is pictured with Customer

The regular meeting of
the Norwalk 4-H All Stars
was held December 13,
2009, at the Norwalk Pub-
lic Library. The meeting
was called to order by
President Dannica Larson
at 6:00 p.m. Erin Bunce led
the Pledge of Allegiance.
Roll call Was answered
by 12 members, stating
what they are doing for
Christmas break. For new
business, we talked about
going to the nursing home
for our February meeting
to play Bingo. We also
talked about the new Clo-
ver Kids club. It is a pre-
4H group for grades K-3.
Lauren Bunce made a mo-
tion to adjourn the meet-
ing, and Erin Bunce sec-
onded the motion.
