Emmons with six points each, Alex O'Neil with five and Sarah Schreck and Sydney McManus with two each. Also seeing ac- tion were Amber Amantea, Lyndsey Pritchard, Tanya Sheriff, Shelby Seibert and Brianna McAninch. The girls' junior varsity basketball team lost to Pella Christian Thursday, Norwalk vs. Newton, Shelby Seibert. The girls' junior varsity basketball team lost to Newton, Monda Jdh. 5 at home 37-21. Missed free throws and the failure to secure rebounds cost the Warriors. The team is still struggling with its shoot- ing, but the passing, de- fense and execution on of- fense have improved. Leading the scoring were Kayla Hyden and Alyssa Jan. 8 at home in the middle school gym 53-21. Norwalk trailed 32-6 at the half as Pella Christian got all the loose balls, re- bounds and were beating the Warriors down the floor. In the second half the team played better getting outscored 19-15. Norwalk had balanced scoring as Shelby Seibert and Alex O'Neil both had four Wrestlers Compete in Several Meets Norwalk at Johnston Meet Holiday break ended early for the Norwalk Wrestling Team. Satur- da Jan. 3, the junio r var- sity and varsity squads competed in five dual meets hosted by Johnston High School. All of the schools in attendance were from 4A populated schools around the state including Johnston, Indianola, Davenport Cen- tral, Sioux City North and Mason City. The Warriors were caught sleeping in their first dual meet when they faced the Mohawks from Mason City. Mason City defeated the Warriors 46- 21. Earning team points for Norwalk were Andy Lawson, Kenyon Stevens decisions and Justin Arey and Tyler Thompson with pins. The second match of the day was between Norwalk and Johnston. Norwalk looked much tougher in this round and defeated the host Dragons 54-18. Winners in that match with pins were Zach Cowie, Are Corbin Haskin, Reece Sharp, Ethan Wagner and Th- ompson. Winning by de- cision were Stevens and Blair Cooper. Winning by forfeit were Zach Miller and Josh Rudolf. The third team Nor- walk competed against was Davenport Central. Norwalk defeated the Blue Devils 65-18. Warriors earning pins were Lawson, Arey, Stevens, Pevestorf, Cory Ogle, Wagner and Thompson. Haskin beat his opponent by major decision. After a short break, the Warriors faced a tough Indianola team and were defeated 55-20. Lawson and Thompson pinned their opponents. Arey and Haskin defeated their op- ponents by decisions. The Warriors ended with the most exciting dual of the day. Norwalk was trailing 34-33 when Stevens took the mat against 8th rated Jake Th- ompson. Stevens was trailing 5-0 in the 3rd pe- ri0d when he threw Sioux City North's Thompson to his back for a pin which won this dual in exciting fashion for the Warriors.
