Norwalk Boys' Basketball Teams Up with
City State Bank to Help Blank Children's Hospital
The Norwalk Boys' Basketball players, parents and fans worked together to raise
more than $850 for Blank Children's Hospital. The money was donated by fan,
parent and player contributions. Bill and Julie Wood were winners of an autographed
team basketball in a silent auction. A special thanks to Steve Albrecht and the City
State Bank for their generous donation to this cause. The boys" basketball team
used the money to buy toys for children in the hospital. Monday, Dec. 22, they went
to Blank and were introduced to Melissa Beaman from the Child Life Department.
The boys toured the hospital and got to see how their toys were going to be dis-
persed. It was an insightful and thought-provoking visit. The boys' basketball
team appreciates everyone who contributed to this campaign. It helped make their
holidays special. Special appreciation to Sarah Wood and Halle Anderson for or-
ganizing the donation stand and volunteering their time to run it. Photos submitted.

Norwalk JV Boys' Basketball Off to a 5-0 Start
The Norwalk JV Boys'
Basketball team made it
through the pre-Christ-
mas break portion for
their schedule with an
unblemished record,
dominating their oppo-
nents along the way. The
team has done a wonder-
ful job of adapting to a
new, up-tempo style of
play, and has used this
and their depth to wear
teams out and win all five
games convincingly. In the
season opener the JV War-
riors beat Oskaloosa by
the score of 61-36. They
followed that up by de-
stroying Grinnell on the
road by a count of 62-36.
In their next contest they
played their annual game
at the middle school and
felt right at home destroy-
ing Boone by a score of 71-
33. In their last two con-
tests before the break, the
Warriors humbled Knox-
ville 63-47 and South
Tama 94-45.
The team is playing
very well together and has
had a number of solid con-
tributors through this
point in the season. Cur-

rently, there are seven

The Warriors hope to
continue their winning

weeks as they will face a
much tougher portion of
their schedule.
