Send Wishes to Marine Corps Best of the Bunch Clubs. Photo submitted. The Best of the Bunch Clubs (both 4-H and Clover Kids) made Get Well/Merry Christmas cards for injured Marine recruits in boot camp at the Marine Corps Re- cruit Depot in San Diego. Being away from home during the holidays plus be- ing injured is a very difficult time for these recruits. For some, they will heal and will continue on with their training, others may have an injury too severe and will be medically discharged after they have recuperated. The members hope their cards will bring a smile, and maybe even a chuckle, as the little Clover Kids got a bit carried away with stickers. Stickers of dog tags, combat boots and all things military, along with Flower Power stickers and cute little drawings were added to the cards. Penny Braun, 4-H Leader, stated, "I know I sure had a smile reading each one." The cards ith several bags of Christmas candy were mailed and volunteers in San Diego delivered them on Christmas Day.
