The Warrior wrestlers
faced Pella at home, Thurs-
day, Jan. 9. The junior var-
sity Warriors wrestled
first. The JV wrestlers who
secured falls for the team

Cook, Caleb Rees and Lo-
gan Foetisch.
The varsity began their
matches at the 182 weight
dass. First up for us was
senior Warrior, Dusten
Saltz (182) meeting up
with Pella's Ashton Mess-
er (182). Saltz won a major
decisioned match putting
four points on the board
right away for Norwalk.
Kevin Onstot (195) came
up next against Keegan
Poole (195) and did the
very same thing, four more
points for Norwalk. Pella
was open at the 220 weight
class as well as the 285
weight class, Trystan Min-
nis (220) and Zach Swan-
son (285) won forfeited
matches, which makes the

Educator Appreciation Days
Norwalk High School teacher Shannon McLaughlin
(left) and Dr. Charles Murphy (fight), physician at
Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake,
were at Barnes & Noble, West Des Moines, Saturday,
Jan. 11, for Educator Appreciation Days. McLaughlin
is one of five Iowa teachers named state finalists for
the Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathemat-
ics and Science Teaching. He staffed the table at Barnes
& Noble for Educator Appreciation Days, which ran
