Box 325, Norwalk IA50211 Member of: National Newspaper Association Iowa Newspaper Association OBITUARY LORETTA ANNA (KNOLL) ECKELS Loretta Anna (Knoll) Eckels was born Septem- ber 17, 1940 on a farm in Perc IL to Rudolph and Norton Knoll. She died Tuesday, Jan. 21, at the Clarke County Hospital in Osceola. - . ..... . Funeral services were Saturday, Jan. 25, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Osceola, With interment in the Murray Cemetery. ....... January 6, 1963, she married Gary James Eck- els and moved from her home in Loveland, CO to Murray. To this union three children were born, Michael, Susan and An- drew. Mrs. Eckels was a nurse at heart who spent many years at Clarke County Hospital caring for her friends and neighbors in their times of need and lat- er was an educator, under whose guidance many nurse s began their career. First and foremost she was a loving wife and mother to her family, always put- ting their needs before her own. She loved the farm, gardening, attending her grandchildrens' activities, decorating cakes and was a wonderful cook. She made every birthday and holiday special. She was a lifelong member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. .Survivors include Gar her husband of 51 years; Loretta Eckels son, Mike (Jodee) of Mur- ray; daughter, Susan (Rick) of Norwalk and son, Andy (Chandra) of Murray; grandchildren, Katie (Brian Jennett) of Iowa City, Darin (Ashleigh Neal) Eckels and Corey Eckels, all of Murra3 Elyse and Cole Rice, Marcus and Rachel Johnson, all of Nor- walk and Addison, Rilean- na and Trevor Eckels, all of Murray; brother, Roy (Ei- leen)-Knoll of Arizona; sis- ters, June Steele of Colo- rado and Nadine Meyer of Illinois and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; par- ents-in-law, James and Gertrude Eckels; brothers- in-law, Stephen Eckels, Kenny Goeltl, Pat Steele and Vic Meyer. RICHEY Services were held Friday, Jan. 24, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Indianola for Clinton Richey, 75, Norwalk, who died at his home Monday, Jan. 20: Burial was at the Indianola I.O.O.F. Memorial Gardens Cem- etery. Survivors include his wife, Jo; children and grand- children, Christine (Ed) Solheim (Goran and Oliver), Casey (Jill) Richey (Colton and Caitlyn) and Carlton (Jen) Richey; sister, Joan (Bob) Lightner; brother, Duane (Margaret) Richey; two aunts, nine nieces and nephews. LOSSNER Services were held Wednesday, Jan. 22, at the Norwalk United Methodist Church for Randall C. Lossner, 55, Des Moines, who died Saturday, Jan. 18, at HCI Care Services in Des Moines. Mr. Lossner was born April 18, 1958 to Barbara (Ross) and Robert Lossner in Des Moines. He proudly worked as a pressman at the family-owned LithoGraphics in Des Moines. He possessed a strong work ethic, was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, loved music and was a collector of "many" things. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Rosanne; chil- dren, Joshua (Angie) Lossner, Laura (Sean) Allison, Ross Lossner and Beth (Cody) Marcum; grandsons, Gabriel and Lucas Marcum; mother, Barbara; brothers, Rob and Rod (Sharon); sisters, Vandi and Tammy (Bryce) Gilster; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert, and grandparents, Fred and Blanch Ross. Memorials may be directed to the family. OBITUARY PHYLLIS MCCULLOH Services were held in West Des Moines Saturda Jan. 25, for Phyllis McCulloh, 81, Urbandale, who died Tues da Jan. 21, at Methodist West Hospital in West Des Moines. Mrs. McCulloh was born March 19, 1932 in Madison County to Forrest and Roxie (Beach) Dale, the youngest of 11 children. She married Dale Crow in 1951 and bore three children before divorcing. She later married Ellsworth McCulloh in 1968 and had one son. She worked for Northwestern Bell in Des Moines before moving to Illinois where she worked for GE until she retired. Survivors include her children, Dan (Stacey) Crow of Cumming, Brenda (John) Cavallo of Boca Raton, FL and Timothy Ellsworth McCulloh of Des Moines; grand- children, Toby Hicks, Sean Crow, Ryan Crow, Shannon Nehrkorn and Olivia Cavallo; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Donald Dale of Osceola and Wayne Dale of Indianola. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; daughter, Marcia Ortega; five brothers and three sisters. Memorials may be directed to the family for a me- morial to be directed at a later date.
