Thursday, February 7, 2019 N/Warren Town and County News Page Three Announce Engagement Kevin Dean Salyers, Jr and Carla Lynn Riddle, each of Norwalk, Iowa, would like to announce their joyous engagement. They were engaged on Christmas day surrounded by family at his mother's house. Kevin is an IT manager and Carla is a registered dental hygienist and an expanded functions dental assistant. The wedding and reception will be held at Sherwood Forest in Windsor Heights, Iowa on May 18th, 2019. 24/7 DadTM Program Offered in Norwalk 24/7 Dad, a program for fathers, will soon be offered in Norwalk. This program, facilitated by Edwin Daye, will take place at Lil' Hands Big Dreams, 730 Main Street in Norwalk, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday evenings, beginning February 19th and going through April. Developed by fathering and parenting experts, 24/ 7 DadTM focuses on the characteristics that men need to be involved fathers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. This community-based program helps men develop the attitudes, knowledge and skills they need to get - and stay- involved with their children. 24/7 DadTM focuses on key fathering characteristics like masculinity, discipline and work/family balance. The program helps men evaluate their parenting skills, as well as their fathering role models. This program is sponsored in part by PFD (Partners in Family Development) and the Warren County Child Abuse Prevention Council. OPALS - Older People with Active Life Styles Senior Citizen Exercise Everyone ages 55 and older is invited to attend a free exercise program that will include stretching and toning. We will meet at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church (new location) located at 515 Sunset Drive. Registration is not required. This is a continuous program every Monday and Wednesday from 10- 10:30 a.m. Well-Seasoned Potluck (The meat as well as the people) All are invited, age 55 or older, to attend a potluck dinner to enjoy and socialize with the Park and Recreation staff. Meat, tableware, and coffee/ beverage are provided. Dust off the cookbooks and be creative to bring a side dish and/or dessert to share with everyone. After the meal we will have some form of entertainment from local talent. Let us know your email address and we will send out reminders with what meat that is prepared on that day. Churchville Shrine Spaghetti Dinner The Churchville Assumption Shrine Hall, in Churchville, will hold its annual All You Can Eat Italian Spaghetti & Meatball Dinner, on Sunday, February 24, 2019. The dinner will be served from 11:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will also be silent auction items available to :bid on.
