Knights of Columbus Pancake
Breakfast February 24th
The Norwalk Knights of Columbus will have a
pancake breakfast on Sunday, February 24th, from
8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John the Apostle
Catholic Church, 720 Orchard Hills Drive in
Norwalk. We will serve pancakes, french toast,
sausage, scrambled eggs, fruit, coffee, milk, and juice.
The proceeds from this event will benefit the
Norwalk High School Dance Marathon to help
children with ca' ~er. The Dance Marathon is a large
college event that high schools are starting to get
involved in, to help those children with cancer. We
hope to see you at our breakfast to help us support
our young people as they work to support these
children. As always the Knights would like to thank
the Norwalk community for their support in helping
us support our young people and our community.

Thursday, February 14
Rhyme Time, 10:30 am. This storytime focuses
on songs and rhymes. Shake shakers, sing, move, and
read some short books!
Pajama Time, 7:00 pm. On the 2nd and 4th
Thursdays of the month, join us in the evening to
read funny stories. Great for all ages; pajamas
welcome. ~ ' '
Monday, February 18
Baby Time, 10:30 am. A special story time for
babies up to about 18 months and their grownups.
Learn lots of songs, rhymes, and bounces! (Fifteen
minutes followed by playtime.)
Escape Room for Kids, 3:45 - 4:30 pm.
Kindergartners through 2nd grade can work together
and use clues to figure out the codes to a series of
locks to open the breakout box! (We will use a
different scenario from past escape room programs.)
Children under 10 must have an adult in the library.

Tuesday, February 19
Reading Time, 10:30 am. This storytime focuses
on books and pre-reading skills. Read books, sing
songs, and do activities!
Escape Room for Kids, 3:45 4:30 pm. (This is
the same program as yesterday’s was for younger
kids, and this one’s for 3rd through 5th grade.)
Wednesday, February 20
Early Out Wednesdays, 2:30 - 3:30 pm. Drop-in
activities every Wednesday if there is school in
Norwalk. No registration required. Best for
elementary age children, but all ages welcome. On
the 3rd Wednesday of the month, it’s Build! Build
imaginative creations with LEGO and more.

Registration forms for events are available 24 hours
a day at the Parks and Recreation office (1 100
Chatham Avenue, inside the Norwalk Public Safety
Building) or print them off our website:
www.norwalk.iowa.gov. You can mail registration
forms, place them in our drop box, or walk in. Office
hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 pm. Monday thru Friday.
The drop box is open 24/ 7. If you have any questions,

is also available on our website: www.norwalk.
iowa.gov.
Our fall and winter brochure is available online,
or there are copies you can pick up at the Parks and
Rec office.
We are now accepting Park Shelter House
reservations for April through October, and Pool
Party reservations for the 2019 season.

Robotics
21st Century Robotics Enrichment using LEGO
bricks. Each class follows 4 components: Teach it,
Build it, Program it, and Play it. ‘
Family Open Gym
Shoot hoops or play a pick-up game with friends or
family. Bring clean tennis shoes for the floor. Only
residents in the Norwalk school district are eligible
to participate. No registration required; just show
up and play.
OPALS —— Older People with Active Life
Styles
Senior Citizen Exercise,
Everyone ages 55 and older is invited to attend a
free exercise program that will include stretching and
toning. We will meet at Christ Our Savior Lutheran
Church (new location) located at 515 Sunset Drive.
Registration is not required. This is a continuous
program every Mondayand Wednesday from 10-

All are invited, age 55 or older, to attend a potluck
dinner to enjoy and socialize with the Park and
Recreation staff. Meat"; tableware, and coffee/
beverage are provided. Dust off the cookbooks and
be creative to bring a side dish and/or dessert to share
with everyone. After the‘rfieal we will have some form

what meat that is prepared on that day. Call or email
the office to register two days before the event.
Upcoming Trivia Night at St. John the Apostle
St. John the Apostle in Norwalk will be hosting a
Trivia Night on March 2nd. Doors open at 6:15 p.m.r
and the game begins at 7:00 pm. Get your friends
and family together in teams of 6 to 8 people, or we
can assign you to a team. It will be a fun night with
prizes for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams as well as
attendance drawings, a birthday survivor game, and
an optional best individual team costume and best team
theme prizes. The costume theme is sports teams.
Popcorn and soda will be provided, and you may
bring snacks to share at your table. BYOB (beer and
wine only, please). Registration forms and more
information, including cost, are available at the
church, or call 515-981-4855 to register. Mulligans
r will be for sale. Please register by February 28 and
receive more attendance drawing tickets. Proceeds
will go toward the cost of youth attending the
National Catholic Youth Conference.
