Ser- vices were held Friday, Feb. 12, at O’Leary Cele- bration of Life Center in Norwalk. Joshua, the son of Gre- gory Graham and Raynee Harker Wheeler was born on October 28', 1986' Des Moines. He attended Nor- walk schools through ele- mentary school and later graduated from Johnston High School. Jim attended Norwalk Schools and graduated from Grimes High School in 1958. James G. Clarke During his youth, he was a personal river for Barnes Rodeo out of Cherokee, and was a calf roper, bronc and bull rider on the rodeo cir- cuit from Wisconsin to Ar— kansas to Arizona. "Louie" Schable, 84, of Battle Creek, Iowa, passed away Tues-I day, Feb. 9, at the Horn Memorial Hospital in Ida Grove. Funeral services were Monday, Feb. 15, at the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. Committal services were in the Ida Grove Cemetery with Mil— itary Rites conducted by the Maple Valley Post N 0. 364 American Legion of Battle Creek. Louis Harry George Schable was born on Sep— tember 12, 1931, in Maple— ton, to Carl and Freida (We- ifenbach) Schable. Louie grew up in Danbury, where he attended school and graduated from Danbury High School with the class of 1951. Louis enlisted in the United States Marines. He was stationed in the Phil- ippine Islands for three years and honorably served his country during the Korean War. Louis married the love of his life JoAnn Christo- pherson on May 27, 1962. The couple made their home in Danbury and lat- . er moved to Battle Creek in 1977. Louis and JoAnn were blessed with two chil- dren, Kevin and Renea. Working as a plumber, Louie later purchased the lumberyard in Battle Creek, in 1972. After school ' and during the. summer months LOuie’s nephews would work at the lumber— yard learning and follow- ing in his footsteps. Taking great pride in helping his customers, : Louie was al- ways theré to lend a help- ing hand. Louie oWnedand operated Schable Lumber— yard for 30 years till he re- tired in 2002. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Battle Creek. Louie en— joyed the great outdoors. Especially hunting and fishing with his children; as Louis H. “Louie” Schable well as going to South Da- kota prairie dog hunting with his son, nephews and their children. Kevin and Louie shared a passion for reloading shells. Louie fol- lowed the Iowa Hawkeyes in football and basketball. He was an avid fan for his grandson, Baylee and loved following his basket- ball career. Having a green thumb, Louie loved to gar- den and plant flowers. Louie and JoAnn loved watching the birds out their back window. They always had feed out for them try— ing. to bring in different kind of birds. He had a pas- sion for photography and would photograph any- thing that would hold still, especially his beloved daughter Renea. - Left to cherish his mem— ory are his loving wife of 53 years, JoAnn Schable of Battle Creek; children, Kevin Schable of Miles, and Renea Steele (Ben Eason of Battle Creek,) of Norwalk, grandchildren: Austin Schable, Baylee Steele, Ken- nady Steele and Delaynee Steele; sister, Minnie Bern- er of Seymour; and numer- ous nieces, nephews. Louie was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Freida Schable; twin sons in infancy; brother, Carl (Allie) Schable; sisters, Louise (Art) Krueger and Doris (Julius, Sr.) Jepsen. The first nylon-bristled toothbrush with a plastic handle went on sale in 1938. The electric toothbrush first appeared in 1939.
