Forms must be filed no later than June 1, 2014 with the
Iowa Department Of Revenue.

February Meeting held Tuesday; Feb. 11
Middle school band room, 7 p.m.
Teacher Reports:
Elementary:
*Carroll Hardy reported the 5th grade band concert has been rescheduled for
Monday, Feb. 17.
*Solos are being prepared for contest on March 8.
*4th and 5th graders will be attending a Des Moines Symphony concert on March
25. Boosters are paying for the tickets.
Middle School:
*The 7th and 8th grade large group and jazz band contest is Saturday, Feb. 15.
Norwalk is hosting several districts in the area. *6th grade band concert February 27.
*Middle school solo and ensemble contest will be held March 8.
High School:
*Mr. Huen reported the jazz band clinic in Urbandale on February 8 was a huge
success. No ratings or competition, just instruction.
Concert band winter concert has been rescheduled to Monday, Feb. 17, at 8:15
following the 5th grade band concert.
*Representatives of the Newton school district will be visiting the Norwalk music
department on February 14 to observe what makes our music programs so success-
ful.
*Jazz Band contest in Indianola February 22
*Solo and ensemble contest March 10.
*Kim Ward reported the NHS vocal solo/ensemble contest Will be February 13.
*Show choir contest at Indianola February 22.
*Jazz choir will attend Kirkwood Vocal Jazz Festival February 26 and 27.
*Show choir contest at Bishop Heelan March 1
*Show Choir Showcase with middle school and high school show choirs March 7.
*Wartburg Castle Singers will hold a workshop and concert March 11.
*High school choir trip to Florida is March 14-19. Students will perform at Disney
World.
*Cabaret Night is March 27.
Fundraising Programs:
*BooSters netted $10,069 from fruit sales in December.
*Deb Luzier reported on booster concession stands to be set up for dance compe-
titions during February, March and May in the cafeteria.
*,Annette Campbell reported that Younker's Community Day coupon books are
available for sale for the February 28-March I event.
*Butterbraid sales for 6th-12th grade choir students will begin February 27 and
run through March 6. Deliveries are scheduled for March 25.
*Tonic Sol Fa concert will be April 26. Rhonda Huegerich reported the committee
will be getting together to decide on ticket prices and when to make them available
to the public.
Misc.
*Dave Campbell reported on the need for a quality high-definition camera and
recorder in the auditorium. Boosters voted to spend $4,000 on the equipment out of
the Notable Donors fund.

LIBRARY EVENTS
Monday, Feb. 24
Book Buddies, 6-7 p.m. Mondays through February 24, high school and elemen-
tary (K-3rd) students pair up for an hour of reading and crafts. High school students
can earn up to four hours of volunteer credit. Registration is required for all partici-
pants. Space is limited.
Tuesday, Feb. 25
Pre-School Story Time, 10:30-11 a.m. For 3-6 year-61ds, join us for stories, finger
plays, songs and flannel boards! Parents, expect some interaction with your little
ones and helpful tips on early literacy skills you can use at home. This storytime is
also a good fit for parents attending with several children and for daycare groups.
Wednesday, Feb. 26"
Take a Break, 10:30-11:15 a.m. For adults and preschoolers, join us in this collabo-
rative program. Connect with other adults who take care of preschoolers - sharing
ideas and getting resources or short programs, while the kids do age-appropriate
activities that encourage purposeful play and child development. Adults will also
get a chance to play! Snacks and read-aloud starts promptly at 10:30. Meets Wednes-
days through April 30 (except for March 5).
4th - 5th Grade Book Club, 2-2:45 p.m. On the fourth Wednesday of each month,
join us for book talks, activities and snacks. Bring what you are currently reading or
come to get some ideas for new reads.
Thursday, Feb. 27
Toddler Time, 10:30-11 a.m. For ages 18 months4o three years, join us for stories,
finger plays, songs and flannel boards! Parents, expect lots of interaction with your
little ones and some helpful tips on early literacy skills you can use at home.
Pajama Story Time, 7-7:30 p.m. Can't make it to a morning storytime or prefer an
evening storytime? Stop by the library for Pajama Storytime! This storytime includes
flannel boards, music and stories. All are welcome!

Adult Night Out, 6:30-9:30 p.m. Watch a classic film with Other adults! Showing:
