As a member of the Norwalk Lions Club we not only impact our community, but we also gain valuable skills. We are afforded an opportunity to develop leadership skills, grow personally and professionally all by volunteering locally. Seeing life-change in these young women brings satisfaction, encouragement and plenty of reward - not just to our staff, but to the many that have volunteered, prayed and contributed over the years. We believe our work brings joy to our heavenly Father as well as we not only assist young women, but also help them prepare and bring a healthy baby into the world. A significantly important tool in this ministry is the wonderful facility that God allows us to use to house our residents. This 'house' becomes a 'home' for many young women who have never experienced family. We are pleased to announce a milestone in the Life of Ruth Harbor! This tool, our house and the supporting offices, are paid for! With God's favor and the contribu- tions of many, we now completely own our facility and have greater freedom to move into the future - which we believe involves serving our residents and commu- nity in a greater way! An impromptu "mortgage shredding" ceremony was held Monday, Feb. 18, to celebrate this milestone.
