Tuesday, March 6
Pre-School Story Time, 10:30-11 a.m. A fun, educa-
tional and activity-based story time for ages 3-6. A great
opportunity for parents to get tips on early literacy skills
for use at home. Daycare groups are welcome.
Wednesday, March 7
Wee-Ones Story Time, 10:30 a.m. Finger plays, sto-
ries and songs for little ones to age 18 months and their
parents. Designed for a one-to-one or one-to-two par-
ent-child ratio to maximize interaction.
Lego Club, 1-3 p.m. School-age children get together
for creative fun with Legos. (One Wednesday per month,
on "early out" days.)
Yu-Gi-Oh Club, 1-3 p.m. For 2nd-graders and up.
Whether a Yu-Gi-Oh beginner or experienced player,
join us to trade cards, duel, learn new strategies and
have a great time! (One Wednesday per month, on "early
out" days.)
Thursday, March 8
Toddler-Time Story Time, 10:30 a.m. A chance for
parents to interact with their children ages 18 months
to three years during stories, finger plays and songs, to
help toddlers develop those critical early literacy skills.
Friday, March 9
Friday Bridge Club, 1-3 p.m. Every Friday afternoon
February through May, join your friends to play Bridge
at the library. Cards will be provided or you can bring
your own.

writer Sara Routh, daugh-
ter of Katie and Ron Routh
of Norwalk, will be per-
forming at the Variety
Club Telethon Saturday,
March 3, and Sunday,
March 4.
In addition, she will be
performing at the Under-
ground in downtown Des
Moines at 8 p.m. Thursda3
March 1, and at Muse
Monday, March 5, at 10
p.m.
Snowman
Contest
Area residents are re-
minded of the annual
Snowman Contest spon-
sored by Norwalk Parks
and Recreation. It contin-
ues through the end of
March with concession
stand bucks awarded to
the winner.
Take a picture of your
snowman with its creators
and send it to the Parks
and Recreation office. Be
sure to include names,
ages and phone numbers
of the participants. Photos
submitted may be printed
in the next Fall/Winter
Parks and Recreation bro-
chure.

Feb. 9 - 8 p.m., Hwy 92
and 20th Avenue: a vehicle
driven by Earl Gerdeman,
46, rural Indianola, was
operating a farm tractor
eastbound on Hwy 92
when he was struck by an
eastbound vehicle driven
by Dennis McAllister, 56,
rural Prole; $8,000 damage
to the McAllister vehicle
and $6,000 damage to the
Gerdeman vehicle. Both
men sought medical treat-
ment by private vehicle;
Gerdeman was cited for
failure to have a reflector
device.
