Des Moines for Keith
CoIlings, 71; Des Moines,
who. died Wednesday,
March 6.
Mr. Collings was born
in Creston June 27, 1941
the son of Clarence and
Lola Collings He was a
i longfime resident Of
Norvalk and Des Moines.
Mr. Collings was a teacher
and coach for38 years in
Norwalk. Heenjoyed golf,
playing cards, loved
coaching all sports and
spending time with his
family.
Survivors include his
two sons, Bradley (Su-
zanne) Collings and Scott
Collings; two daughters,
Sarah Collings and Angela
(Steven) Anderson; six
grandchildren; two great-
grandchildren and four
siblings, Wayne, Marjorie,
Don and Roberta.
He was preceded in
death by his brother, Dean,
and a son, Robert.

January 26 - 5:33 p.m.:
Mr. VanderIx)ol reported
that he was driving north
of the double curves on R-
63 highwa) (4000 block)
when a herd of deer ran
into the road in front of
him. Mr. Vanderpool sta-
ted that he struck one of
the deer which caused the
damage to the front of his
car. No investigation was
done becatase the accident
was not reI)orted until two
days after the fact.

Margaret McIntyre, 64,
Indianola, vehicle was
struck by a deer.
2:40 p.m.: Maurice
Davis, 35, Des Moines, lost
control due to ice covered
road. Vehicle was not driv-
able. Driver suffered mi-
nor injuries and trans-
ported to Mercy Hospital

urday, March 2, in Chari-
ton for Glen "Pete" Tyler
Sr., 87, who died Thursda)
Feb. 28,¢at his home in
Chariton,:
Mr. Tyler was born Sep-
tember 18, 1925to Charles
and Daisy (Fox) Tyler in
Valley Junction.He served
in the Navy during World
War II on the Windham
Bay Aircraft Carrier and in
the Pacific Ocean on the
USS Chandeleur. During
the Korean Warhe trained
troops inthe United States
for the Army. He started
his own business, Tyler
Refuse, in 1956 and sold it
in 1991.
Survivors include his
wife, Joarme; five children,
Mary (Ed) Wiesing of
Overland Park, KS, Glen
(Julie) Tyler , Jr. of Nor-
walk, Lori (Dan) Miller of
Wever, Brenda (Tony)
Laurie and Stephen
(Jamie) Tyler of Des
Moines; two step-children,
Cathy (Brad) Reece of
Chariton and Cristi Gale of
Kansas; 13 grandchildren,
three step-grandchildren;
17 great-grandchildren;
and three great-great-
grandchildren; and a sis-
ter, Dorthy Reames, Add.
He was preceded in
death by his parents; four
sisters and four brothers; a
son, Harry "Butch" Beve-
ridge, and two grandsons,
Shad and Tad Tyler Har-
ker.
Mr. Tyler became a
Christian in this thirties,
stating; "l settled the ques-
tion forever." He is now
with his Lord.
