You can mail registration forms, place them in our drop box or walk in. Our of- rice is located at 1100 Chatham Ave. (Public Safety Bldg.). Office hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Fri- day. The classes are separated by rank (beginners and ad- vanced) and students meet twice a week. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays, in the Oviatt gym (6 p.m. start) or multi-purpose room (6 p.m. start). Times will vary depending on location due to school activities. We also offer a Little Dragon program designed for children ages five to seven. Little Dragons meet twice a week. This program is run concurrently with the begin- ning class. All programs consist of hand and foot techniques, forms, self-defense, lessons and instructions on topics such as respect, self-discipline and perseverance. Competition teaches sportsmanship, gives con- fidence and allows the students to use the skills they have learned in class. Families are strongly encouraged to join and train together. We found that the kids learn better when one or both of their parents/guardians are learning along- side of them in class. Cost Per Session: Little Dragons (twice a week): Norwalk resident $46, Non-resident $53; Family Tae Kwon Do (ages 8 and above), First family member: Norwalk resident $57.50, Non-resident $66.25; Second and third family members: Norwalk resident $28.75 each, Non-resident $33.25 each; Maximum fam- ily fee: Norwalk resident $115, Non-resident $132.25. Registration Dates: Through March 20; Session Dates: March 24, 26, 31, April 2, 7, 9, 14, 16, 21, 23, 28, 30, May 5, 7, 12, 14. (Dates/times could vary due to school functions/concerts) **Cost of testing for belts and competition is extra, along with an annual $25 association fee** FAMILY FLASHLIGHT EASTER EGG HUNT When the sun goes down, the fun begins. It's a hunt for the golden egg! Families will be required to bring their own flashlight (size limited to no larger than 2 "D" cell batteries.) After the hunt and awarding of the prizes, there will be hot chocolate and treats for all. An adult must accompany all children. Each child is limited to 20 eggs. This program is designed for children under the age of 13. Registration Date: Through March 27; Program Date: Saturday, April 4; Time: 8 to 9 p.m,; Lo- cation: Norwalk-McAninch Sports Complex*; Equip- ment Needed: Flashlight; Cost: $5.30 child/S6.10 non- resident child; Minimum/Maximum: 30/100 partici- pants. *If inclement weather, will be held at Oviatt El- ementary. MINOR BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL (3RD, 4TH AND 5TH GRADE) This program is for children who are currently in third, fourth and fifth grade. Gzrls will play softball and boys will play baseball. The children will have fun while learning the fundamentals of baseball or softball. Vol- unteer coaches will be needed, There will be two weeks of practices and four weeks of games (dependent on num- ber of teams). Registration Dates: Through March 27; Softball Nights: Monday and Wednesday; Baseball Nights: Tuesday and Thursday; Program Begins: Week of May 11 (weather permitting); Time: 6 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.; Location: Norwalk-McAninch Sports Complex; Equipment Needed: Glove; Cost: Norwalk residents $52, non-resident $60. COACH PITCH - BASEBALL AND SOFTBALL (1ST AND 2ND GRADE) This program is for children who are currently in first and second grade. Girls will play softball and boys will play baseball. The children Will have fun while learn- ing the fundamentals of baseball or softball. Coaches will pitch to the batters. If the batter does not get a hit, the ball will then be placed on a tee. Volunteer coaches will be needed. There will be two weeks of practices and four weeks of games (dependent on number of teams) Registration Dates: Through March 27; Softball Nights: Monday and Wednesday; Baseball Nights: Tuesday and Thursday; Program Begins: Week of May 11 (weather permitting); Time: 6 and 7:15 p.m.; Location: Norwalk- McAninch Sports Complex; Equipment Needed: Glove; Cost: Norwalk resident $41, non-resident $47.25 (in- dudes concession fee). **Special Note: PeeWee and BamBam will register in May and play in July** OPALS- SENIOR CITIZEN PROGRAMS (Older People with Active Life Styles) SENIOR CITIZEN EXERCISE Everyone age 55 and older is invited to attend a free exercise program that will include stretching and ton- ing. We will meet at the Norwalk Christian Church lo- cated at 701 Main St. This is a continuous program run- ning yearly. Days: Monday and Thursday; Time: 10- 10:30 a.m. SENIOR CITIZEN WII BOWLING Do you miss the game of bowling? Not quite as spry as you used to be? We invite you to try the game of Wii bowling. This game mimics actions performed in real life bowling without having to travel to a bowling alley. Each week teams will be assigned for those who show up and we will have a little competition. This program will continue until March. (Will take off during the holi- days). Place: Norwalk Public Safety Bldg; Time: Thurs- days, 1:30-3 p.m. WELL-SEASONED POTLUCK (The meat as well as the people) All are invited, age 55 or older, to attend a potluck dinner to enjoy and socialize with the Parks and Recre- ation staff. Meat, tableware and coffee/beverage are pro- vided. Dust off the cookbooks and be creative to bring a side dish and/or dessert to share with everyone. After the meal we will have some form of entertainment from local talent. Let us know your email address and we will send out reminders with what meat we plan to have on that day.
