Mayor Phillips called the City Council meeting to order at 6:05 p.m. Present at
roll call: Tom Greteman, Erika Isley, Kyle Jackson and Jaki Livingston. Absent:
Eric Delker. (RC = roll call vote)
15-030 Motion by Greteman, seconded by Isley to approve the agenda, as
amended to include appointment of Justin Craig and Scott Hughes, to the Con-
struction Board of Appeals for terms expiring December 31, 2017, under the
consent agenda, carried unanimously by voice vote.
15-031 Motion by Livingston, seconded by Isley to approve minutes from the
February 19t" regular council meeting carried unanimously by voice vote.

port; Resolution 0305-15-016 setting date of Public Hearing on designation

15-032 Motion by Greteman, seconded by Livingston to approve consent passed
unanimously by RC vote.
Mayor opened the Public Hearing at 6:07 p.m. concerning adoption of the City
of Norwalk Budget for fiscal year 2015-2016 and certifying tax levy rate. Eddleman
reported that no written or oral comments were received. Mayor closed the Pub-
lic Hearing at 6:08 p.m.
15-033 Motion by Livingston, seconded by Isley to adopt Resolution No. 0305-
15-017 adopting the City of Norwalk Budget for fiscal year 2015-2016 and
certifying tax levy rate at $15.69376 passed unanimously by RC vote.

west AreaTrunk Sewer No. 4 project. Eddleman reported that no written or oral
comments were received. Mayor closed the Public Hearing at 6:09 p.m.

15-034 Motion by Greteman, seconded by Livingston to adopt Resolution 0305-
15-018 authorizing a loan agreement and the future issuance of General
Obligation Ambulance Acquisition Bonds or Notes and providing for the
levy of taxes to pay the same passed unanimously by RC vote.
15-035 Motion by Livingston, seconded by Grateman to adopt Resolution No.
0305-15-019 adopting plans, specificaitons, form of contract and estimate
of costs for improvements known as the Northwest AreaTrunk Sewer No.
4 project passed unanimously by RC vote.
15-036 Motion by Jackson, seconded by Greteman to adopt Resolution No.
0305-15-020 making award of the construction contract to J & K Contract-
ing LLC for the improvements known as the Northwest Area Trunk Sewer
No. 4 project, in an amount not to exceed $215,790.00 passed unanimously
by RC vote.
15-037 Motion by Livingston, seconded by Isley to adopt Resolution 0305-15-
021 approving the execution of Easements for the improvements known
as the Northwest AreaTrunk Sewer No. 4 project passed unanimously by RC
vote.
15-038 Motion by Jackson, seconded by Greteman to enter closed session
regarding potential acquisition of real estate, pursuant to 21.5.1(i). RC passed
unanimously.
16-039 Motion by Livingston seconded by Isley to return to open session. RC
passed unanimously. No action taken.
15-040 Motion by Jackson seconded by Greteman to adjourn the meeting at
6:45 p.m. carried unanimously by voice vote.

Safety Course with testing
will be offered by Iowa
State University Extension
and Outreach in Warren
County Tuesday, April 7,
from 9 a.m.-6 p.m. at their
office, 909 East Second
Ave., Suite E in Indianola.
ServSafe is a national
food safety certification
course, offered in partner-
ship with the National
Restaurant Educational
Foundation and the Iowa
Restaurant Association. It
incorporates years of
hands-on sanitization
practices with the latest
research and FDA Food
Code and those who par-
ticipate in the course will
be able to implement es-
sential food safety prac-
tices and create a standard
of food safety within their
establishments.
The eight-hour course
concludes with a certifica-
tion exam. Iowa regula-
tions require the person in
charge of a foodservice to
have demonstrated
knowledge of food safety
principles; ServSafe cer-
tification is one way to
demonstrate this knowl-
edge: Certificates are valid
for five years. Visit
ServSafe.com for more in-
formation about the
ServSafe examination.
It is necessary for par-
ticipants to study the
ServSafe manual at least
two weeks prior to the
April 7 workshop. Books
may be picked up at the
Polk County Extension of-
rice in Altoona or can be
mailed with a shipping
and handling fee of $6. The
price of the book itself is
included in the $150 work-
shop fee, which is payable
in advance by cash, check
or credit card.
