OBITUARY
LORRAINE D. HOOPS
Loan as the Director of
the Statesman Club. This
job offered many oppor-
tunities to travel to such
destinations as Norway,
Alaska, Hawaii, the U.S.
Virgin Islands, and
Washington D.C. After
her retirement in 1991,
Lorraine enjoyed taking
care of her grand-
children, visiting neigh-
bors, cooking, and
baking. She was a long-
time member of the Park
Avenue Presbyterian
Church.
Lorraine died March
8th, 2019 at Regency
Care Center in Norwalk.
Preceding her in death
was her husband, Iral
Lee Hoops in March
1961; a son, Scott Hoops
in 1995; and an infant
son, Douglas in 1953.
She is survived by her
daughter Jeri Paca
(husband, Tom) of
Norwalk; a sister Beverly
Weltha (husband, Duane)
of Cedar Rapids, IA;
three granddaughters
Lorraine Dorothy
Hoops, the daughter of
Porter and Ora (Holland)
Borwick, was born on
December 8th, 1926 in
Story City, IA. She grew
up in rural Roland, IA
where her parents
farmed. She graduated
from Roland High School
in 1944.
Lorraine worked as a
bookkeeper in downtown
Des Moines and was
introduced to her soon-
to-be husband, Iral Lee
Hoops of Summerset, IA.
To this union they had
two boys and a girl, Scott,
Douglas, and Jeri. They
made their home on the
south side of Des Moines. Mindy Denning of Stock-
Lorraine worked as a ton, MO, Jaime Paca of
homemaker raising her
children until the sudden Henricksen (husband,
and unexpected death of Jason) of St. Louis Park,
her husband in March, MN; her four great-

Knights of Columbus
Fish Fry Dinners
The Norwalk Knights of Columbus will once again
offer Fish Fry Dinners on Friday evenings during
Lent. Remaining dinners will be served March 22nd
and 29th, and April 5th and 12th. The events will
take place at the St. John the Apostle Catholic Church
hall, 720 Orchard Hills Drive in Norwalk, from 5:30
p.m. to 7:00 p.m. each week.
The menu will include baked and fried fish,
macaroni and cheese, cheese pizza, baked potatoes
(while they last), french fries, cole slaw, and drinks.
