LETTERS
OUR PQLICY
We publish letters to the editor when they are not
libelous and when they are signed by the person or
persons submitting them. Opinions expressed are
not necessarily the opinions of the N/Warren
Town and County News staff. Letters are printed
as received. We do not correct spelling and
grammatical errors.
City Council
As a candidate for city council I was invited to at-
tend 3 "Meet the Candidate" forums sponsored by the
Chamber of Commerce. I was impressed by the quality
of the forums and the number of attendees. I lost the
election by 15 votes but I continue to attend city council
meetings because I feel it is necessary to stay informed
regarding city topics and changes that directly impact
me as a resident and taxpayer. Unfortunately, I am usu-
ally the only resident attending meetings. The city re-
cently passed purchasing a fire truck for $850,000 and
this is only one item of Norwalk's major capital improve-
ment budget. Where are all those residents that were so
eager to hear candidates at the forums? We as residents
need to attend city council meetings and voice our opin-
ions so that our elected representatives have input in
decisions that directly impact our lives and pocketbooks.
