In Jul)6 Sharp will go to San Antonio, TX, where he ' will attend boot camp and technical school. Follow- ing training in Texas, Sharp will attend Iowa State University, Ames. .................................. A group of ten Wartburg College stu- dents and one staff mem- ber traveled to Selma, AL during winter term break to work with the Freedom Foundation. Participants worked with the children in the community and other pro- grams striving to achieve unity despite skin color. Students also were in- volved with the com- memoration of the March on Bloody Sunday. This year marks the 17th anniversary of Wartburg service trips. More than 180 Wartburg College students partici- pated in 15 service trips throughout the Untied States during winter t6rm break, March 6 - 14. Among the students participating was Norwalk graduate John Maybee, a sophomore at Wartburg College and the son of the Rev. Timothy and Bette Maybee, former Norwalk residents. Heidi Turner Heidi Turner, grand- daughter of John and Marlene Kean of Curnming and daughter of Gary and Diane Turner of West Des Moines, has made the Dean's List in academics. Items to donate can be anything that is not extra heavy, huge or dirty. Small furniture is fine. No adult clothing will be accepted, but children's clothing up to size 14/16 is fine. Other items to donate include jewelry, books, CDs, DVDs, video tapes, knick- knacks, shoes, hats, per- fume, antiques, tools, ties, electronics, framed art, home decor, dishes/ kitchen items, toys, baby items, sports equipment, etc. Anything with value, new or used, that someone might want to purchase is welcome. Participants must price their own items. Pricing stickers will be available at the church if you wish to price items when you drop them off. Since this event is for charity, it is sug- gested that items be marked up to whole-dol- lar amounts. The FUNdraiser will include a Silent Auction so that everyone will have a chance to bid on more valuable items, which will help make more money for charity. There will be a Bake Sale and anyone wishing to donate baked goods must have their cookies, cakes, etc. to the church on Friday, April 23. The Norwalk Christian Church office will be open for donations from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, April 22, and Friday, April 23. MIDDLESWART TO SEEK RE-ELECTION Warren County Board of Supervisors Chairman Kevin Middleswart is pictured filing his nominating petition with Warren County Auditor Traci VanderLinden. He has announced his intedtion to seek re-election. "I believe things are really moving in the right direction here in Warren County," Middleswart stated. Tingle said, "While I have accomplished much in the past three and one-half years, such as the implementation of two Drug Courts, the instituting of a more modern and cost-efficient office and the aggressive collection of past due fines, I look forward to accomplishing even more in the next term in order to better serve the people of Warren County."
