the mayor and council recognizing his status as Iowa Superintendent of theYear.
The actual name of the sharing award is City-School Collaborative Partn ship
between the City of Norwalk and the Norwalk School District. In recognition of an
innovative grassroots program that has positively influenced local government and
quality of life in the community.

Iowa Clay Festival
The public is invited to attend Iowa's only Iowa wine and Iowa Pottery event. The
Iowa Clay Festival at Penoach Winer 26759 N Ave Ariel, will be May 9 and 10,
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. both days.
Nineteen Iowa Potters will be displaying, demonstrating and selling their craft
beside the vineyard in this premier central Iowa wine and pottery event. Sample
wine, visit with the potters and stroll among the pottery displays.
Celebrate Earth Day
Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge will be observing Earth Day Saturday, April
25, by hosting a volunteer work day. Volunteers will participate in oak savanna re-
construction from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. by assisting in tree and brush removal and litter
removal. All volunteers will receive a free lunch at noon, provided by the Friends of
Neal Smith National Wildlife Refuge. Our goal is to have 250 volunteers involved
this year!
