Monte
and Tammy McCleerey
A long-time dream of
Monte and Tammy
McCleerey of Norwalk has
come true. They are the
new owners of Arrowhead
Resort &" Motel in Nestor
Falls, Ontario, Canada in
the Lake of the Woods
area. Soon they, along with
their youngest daughter,
Amanda (a 2013 Norwalk
graduate), will be heading
north to prepare their cab-
ins, motel andboats for the
arrival of their 2014 season
guests. The resort will be
open from May 15-No-
vember 15.
While handing in their
resignations at Principal
Financial Group, a com-
pany they've enjoyed
working at for a combined
48 years, any nervousness
they may have felt was
quickly overshadowed by
their apparent happiness
at planning the next chap-
ter of their lives. Arrow-
head is a home away from
home to this family as it's
been their vacation desti-
nation for the last 23 years.
Their friends and family
(especially their oldest
daughter, Megan, a 2010
Norwalk graduate and
2014 UNI college gradu-
ate) are already planning
their upcoming vacations.
The clean, well estab-
lished resort has 15 mod-
em housekeeping cabins
that hold two to nine
people with most holding
six people, and a 13-uni.t
motel clean safe beach for
families,, along with boat,
pontoon, and kayak rent-
als. Monte says the motel

is a great option for those
planning a fly-in trip or
needing to stop over be-
fore heading farther north.
Their resort sits on
Crooked Pine Lake and
offers beautiful scenery,
great fishing for walleyes,
musky, northern pike,
Small mouth bass, black
crappies and jumbo perch.
Monte loves sharing his
knowledge and enthusi-
asr of fishing with all
ages. Tammy commented
that he is very patient and
a great mentor. Monte
plans to guide and can also
arrange daily fly-out ser-
vices for guests. The
couple stresses family fun
at the resort. The beach is
clean and protected. It of-
fers floating/diving plat-
form, slide, paddle boats,
water trampoline and lots
of toys for youngsters.

motel are located in the
heart of Nestor Falls and is
right off Highway 71, it has
an easy drive-in access and
is easy to find. Being in
town also allows guests
the convenience of restau-
rants, grocery store and
shops for fishing gear, gifts

and souvenirs. The
McCleereys also plan to
have limited tackle and
merchandise available for
sale at their resort office.
While it's the beauty
and peacefulness of the
area and the quality fish-
ing that has kept this fam-
ily coming back each year,
when asked what they'll
enjoy the most about this
venture, they said "The
people.., we want them to
come as guests, but lea ce
as friends." Monte and
Tammy are very grateful
for the support they've re-
ceived from long-time
guests and are anxious to
welcome newcomers into
the Arrowhead Family -
where generations of fami-
lies have come together to
enjoy nature at its .best.
You are welcome to call
515-360-8940 or visit their
website at www.arrow

head north to one hour
over the Canadian border!
Have fun!
