OBITUARY
ARTHUR GRAYDON MAUK
-A memorial service was
held Monday, April 1, at
First Baptist Church in
Marshalltown for former
Norwalk area resident
Arthur Graydon Mauk, 85,
"of Marshalltown. Mr.
Mauk died Monday,
March 25, at the Iowa Riv-
er Hospice Home in Mar-
shalltown. Inurnment was
at Greenfield Cemetery in
Greenfield.
Mr. Mauk was born July
7, 1927 to Arthur and Ruby
(Ireland) Mauk in Mission,
TX. The family returned to
Iowa and he was raised in
Tabor, where he graduat-
ed from Tabor High School
in 1945. He served in the
United States Army from
1945-46 and then attended
the University of Nebras-
ka in Lincoln. He then
moved to Des Moines
where he met the love of
his life, JoAnn Bronsema,
and they were married
April 19, 1952 in Des
Moines. They lived in the
greater Des Moines area
until 1993 when they
moved to Marshalltown to
be near their children. Mr.
Mauk had a sense of hu-
mor and enjoyed doing
crossword puzzles. He
loved his family and
would always begin with
a prayer at family meals.
Survivors include
JoAnn, his wife of 60+
years; son, Mark (Mary)
Mauk; daughter, Marilee
Arthur Mauk
(Greg) Nichols, both of
Marshalltown; 12 grand-
children, Matthew (Rachel
Meyers) Mauk, Jonathan
Mauk, Andrew (Megan
Bauer) Mauk, Sarah Mauk,
Katie (Andrew) Mott, Sa-
rah (David) Winkler, Paul
(Jona) Nichols, Doctors
Brent and Laura Nichols,
Timothy (Sara) Nichols,
Melody Nichols, Chad
Nichols and Heather (fian-
cee Tom Watson) Nichols;
and three great-grandchil-
dren, Maxwell and Mary-
ann Nichols and Carolyn
Mott.
He was preceded in
death by his parents;
brother, Grant; daughter,
Pamela Ann and his
schnauzer, Pepper.

Ronald L. Dempsey, 69,
Norwalk, who died Tues-
da36 April 9, at Iowa Meth-
odist Medical Center in
Des Moines.
Mr. Dempsey is sur-
vivedby Fran, his loving
wife of 48 years; daughter,
Denise (Pat) McCurnin;
son, Rod Dempsey; and
grandchildren, Katie, Rob-
ert, Emma and Rhett.

OBITUARY
RONAL PEVESTORF
Services were held
Wednesday, April 10, for
Ronal Ray Pevestorf, 56,
Norwalk, who died Thurs-
da3 April 4, due to a hard
battle with lung cancer.
Private burial will be held
at a later date.
Mr. Pevestorf was born
October 14, 1956.
Survivors include his
six children, Nichole,
Scott, Cindy, Kaitlin, Lance
and Brandon; eight grand-
children; his mother, Mary
Pevestorf; brother, Roger
Pevestorf; two sisters,
Brenda Janson and Laura
Ramirez; and close friend,
Sue Sarnecki.
He was preceded in
death by his father, Loren
Pevestorf, and brother,
Russell Pevestorf.
Memorials may be sent
to the Pevestorf family in
care of Cindy. Hamilton's
Southtown Funeral Home
in Des Moines was in
charge of arrangements.
OBITUARY
PETER GREEN
A Celebration of Life Service was held Monda)~ April
15, at Plymouth Congregational Church in Des Moines
for Peter Nathaniel Green, 49, Norwalk.
Mr. Green was born in Des Moines March 13, 1964 to
Virginia Green and John W. Green, Jr MD, who served
as President of Medical Staff at Iowa Methodist Medi-
cal Center. He was a graduate of Cornell College in Mr.
Vernon with a Bachelor of Arts degree in computer sci-
ence and mathematics. He also had his Project Manage-
ment Professional (PNP) designation.
He married his college sweetheart, Susannah, in 1996
and had worked at Nationwide since 2005 and was the
Director of Information'Technology Project Manage-
ment Office. He enjoyed golf, astronom} traveling, fish-
ing, reading and keeping up with the latest in technol-
ogy.
Survivors include his wife, Susannah Maria Carr of
Norwalk; four siblings and 12 nieces and nephews: Mark
Green, Lauren, Thomas and Jonathan, Indianola;
Deborah Green (James McVeety), Samuel and David,
St. Paul, MN; David Green, MD (Polly), Tyler, Peter, Blair
and Kyle, Dallas, TX; Sarah Jane Thoren (Green), Dylan,
Christopher and Ian, Vernon Hills, IL.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother
and oldest brother, John Walker Green III.
