Jared Mallett and Tyler Pella. Norwalk Invitational at Willow Creek in Des Moines Par 71 Norwalk Warrior boy's golf team started the sea- son by hosting a 9 team in- vitational. Norwalk en- tered 3 teams in the tour- nament. The Norwalk first team shot 329 to place 3rd. Norwalk second team shot 362 to place 5th and Norwalk team 3 shot 394 to place 8th out of 9 teams. The number one team in 3A is Gilbert and they won the meet with a 287. New- ton placed 2nd with a 323. Norwalk was led by Senior Tyler Landstrum who fired a career low 3 over par 74, to place 3rd over- all. Gilberts Garrett Jensen won the meet with a 66. Sophomore Blake Johnson also shot a career low score of 79 to place 8th overall along with Sophomore Cameron Hallin's 82. Other Warrior scores were Conner Scott 87, Rhett Dempsey 89, Blake Corn/to 91, Alan Delker 91, Jared Mallett 93, Dylan Lane 94, Joe Vivone 95, Jonah Sperry 95, Jordan Scott 96, Zach Kreider 96, Landstrum medalist DCG and Tyler Landstrum, 3rd at Warrior Invite. Monday, April 4, and Monday April 11 Norwalk boy's golf team last week won 2 and lost 2 matches. Norwalk went to Oskaloosa and lost to Oskaloosa and Newton. Oskaloosa won the meet with a team score of 170. Newton was second with a team score of 173. Norwalk was a very close 3rd with a 176. Oskaloosa's Spencer Tucker was med- alist with a 37. Scoring for Norwalk was Conner Scott 43, Blake Johnson 43, Tyler Landstrum 44, Jared Mallett 46, Rhett Dempsey 49, and Cameron Hallin 51. Norwalk a week later hosted a triangular versus Pella and DCG. Norwalk won the meet with a 167 team score. DCG was 2nd with a 177 and Pella was 3rd with a 229. Norwalk was led by Sophomore Jared Mallett and Senior Tyler Landstrum, The Norwalk pair each shot 41 to tie for medalist honors. Sophomore Blake Johnson shot 42, Joe Vivone in his 1st varsity meet shot 43, Rhett Dempsey 44, and Conner Scott 46, The Norwalk JV boy's golf team is undefeated in conference play. They beat Oskaloosa, Newton, DCG and Pella. In the Oskaloosa meet, Norwalk was led by Joe Vivone's 43. Other Norwalk scores were Alan Delker 45, Jordan Scott 50, Zach Kreider 51, Dylan Lane 52, and Jonah Sperry 53. In the other triangular at home Norwalk was led by Junior Jordan Scott's 42. Other Warrior JV scores were Cameron Hallin 45, Alan Delker 48, Max Sutcliff 48, Zach Kreider 50, and Dylan Lane 50. Benjamin Franklin thought the wild turkey--not the bald eagle--was the beat choice for the national bird.
