The 2014 Class of the
Warren County Leader-
ship Institute (WCLI) has
announced the creation of
the Warren County Trails
Endowment Fund.
Each year, the WCLI
class selects a project in the
community, vhich class
members work on to-
gether, and this year the
class chose to develop this
endowment as a long-term
option for maintaining the
more than 35 miles of trails
throughout the county. In
addition to normal wear
and tear, damage from a
single storm can cause a
washout of an area of trail
that puts a strain on the
maintenance budget. The
class hopes the endow-
ment will ease this strain
on the budget.
The endowment is a
partnership with Warren
County Philanthropic
Partnership (WCPP), ari
affiliate of the charitable
foundation Community
Foundation of Greater Des
Moines, which allows do-
nors to take advantage of

ductible benefits, a 25 per-

Bike Ride Around County
Rotary Club of Indianola will host The Night Ride - ..............
Indianola's OTHER Bike Night - at 4 p.m. Saturday, May
10. Sponsored by Exile Brewing Co., the ride is the Third
Annual Rotary Ride Across Warren. County (RAW),
which benefits local service projects.
The ride begins at 4 p.m. at The Brickhouse on the
Indianola Square, proceeds to Summerset Winery and
back, or riders can continue to Carlisle and back. The
ride ends at The Brickhouse, where there will be live
music and a silent auction.
This year Rotary is partnering with FIT - Friends of
the Indianola Trails, the Indianota Mayor's Youth Coun-
cil and the Warren County Leadership Institute Class
of 2014 to make the ride a reality. FIT will provide trans-
portation for riders who become too tired to return to
the Brickhouse, the youth council will help with the
auction and signage and the WCLI class will also help
with the auction. Proceeds from the registration and the
auction go toward local service projects, including the
WCLI Class of 2014 project, the Warren County Trails
Endowment Fund. The endowment helps with mainte-
nance costs on the county's trails.
