Pick up registration forms 24 hours a day at the Parks
and Recreation office or print them off our website:
www.ci.norwalk.ia.us. You can mail registration forms,
place them in our drop box or walk in. Our office is
located at 1100 Chatham Ave. (Public Safety Bldg.). Of-
fice hours are 8a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
Tile drop box is open 24/7! If you have any questions,

**NEW**YOGA WORKSHOPS
In 2013, we are offering two hour specialized Yoga
Workshops for Adults. This Spring we will have "Yoga
101 - The Basics" and "Core Yoga". More classes to fol-
low this fall. Instructor: Bethanie Lafferty.
Date: Thursday, May 9 - "Core Yoga" This workshop
will get you geared up for the summer and warmer
weather. We will focus on strengthening and lengthen-
ing throughout the core.., the abs, back and hips. Be
ready to work! Participants must have completed Yoga
101 or have some basic yoga experience, as well as be
able to get up and down from the floor with no assis-
tance, be able to kneel and have no acute injuries. Bring
a yoga mat (or towel) and water. Registration: Through
May 3; Time: 6 to 8 p.m.; Location: Norwalk Easter Pub-
lic Library; Cost: Norwalk residents $20, non-resideats

DADDY DAUGHTER DINNER DANCE
The Parks and Recreation Department will host the
social event of the year for Dads and their daughter(s)
1st to 5th grade. This is the night to enjoy your daugh-
ter and friends for an evening of dancing, dinner and
fun. This will include dLnner, photograph and dancing.
If Dad is not available, an uncle, brother or grandfather
is welcomed. Registration Dates: April 29 through May
10; Program Date: Frida) May 3; Time: 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.;

DOG OBEDIENCE SCHOOL
This is a basic obedience class using reward based
training methods. We will cover simple commands such

ing. The class will also focus on correcting Common Be-
havior Problems like jumping, chewing, bolting and
potty issues. Dogs must be at least six months old to
attend and current on all vaccinations. Children are
welcome to attend, but a responsible adult should be
the main person working with the dog. The class is
taught by Dan Pastor, a certified dog trainer with seven
years of experience. This class will be held outside so
wear the proper attire. Location: Billy O Phillips Park;

BIKE SAFETY DAY
The Norwalk Police Department, Norwalk Fire De-
partment along with Norwalk Parks and Recreation is
sponsoring a Bike Safety Day. Participants will bring
their bikes to the Norwalk Police Department parking
lot and get their bike inspected and ride the safety
course. After the safety course, the Mayor will lead a
bike ride in the area surrounding the Public Safety Build-
ing. Each registered child (ages five through fifth grade)
will have a chance to win miscellaneous prizes. Draw-
ing will take place during lunch and you must be present
to win. Registration Dates: April 29 through May 10;

STEP BENCH AEROBICS/INTERVAl.
This is a class of high energy aerobics routines inter-
spersed with intense cardio segments and followed by
arecovery period. Class will improve cardio condition-
ing. This class is for any fitness level and can be adjusted
to a low or high impact class depending on the level of
fitness you are. The bench is provided and you may
bring floor mat/towel and hand-held weights to increase
intensity and improve muscle tone. Mary Jane Sharp is

EARLY BIRD BODY SCULPTIN G
For those of you who get up with the chickens, come
join this early morning class that will work on ultimate
body sculpting, Pilates and chicometrics. This class is
designed to maximize core strength, firm and tone your
butt, thighs and arms. This dass will use dumbbells,
big exercise balls (your own on designated days) and
dynabands that will put you to the test with added in-
tensity. Bring a mat/towel and your own hand weights

CIRCUIT SENSATION

vehicle belonging to

Moines. Report was made;
information was ex-
changed between owners.

Officer impounded a
vehicle in the 1200 block of
Cherry Parkway for ex-
pired plates. Vehicle was
towed to Roy's Towing in
West Des Moines.
April 18
Officer was called to the
2900 block of Sunset Drive
for an unresponsive sub-
ject in a vehicle. The
driver, Andrew Aanonson,
29, Norwalk, was arrested
and charged with Operat-
ing While Intoxicated, 3rd
Offense. Subject was pro-
cessed and transported to
the Warren County Jail for
incarceration.
April 12
Officers were called to
• investigate an assault that
occurred in the 900 block
of Sunset Drive. There
were no injuries and no
charges will be filed in this
case. Suspect was removed
from the area.
Officers were called to
investigate an assault that
occurred in the 1200 block
of North Avenue. Informa-
tion was taken for report;
case remains under inves-
tigation at this time.

Officer was called to the
intersection of North Av-
enue and Sunset Drive to
investigate a Property
Damage Accident. Vehicle
driven by Nathaniel Bratt,
Norwalk, collided with a
vehide driven by Douglas
Jacobs, Urbandale, causing
damage to both vehicles.
Report was made and will
be forwarded to the Iowa
Department of Transporta-
tion; there were no inju-
ries.
