OFFICE INFORMATION
Pick up registration forms 24 hours a day at the Parks
and Recreation office or print them off our website:
www.ci.norwalk.ia.us. You can mail registration forms,
place them in our drop box or walk in. Our office is
located at 1100 Chatham Ave. (Public Safety Bldg.). Of-
fice hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
The drop box is open 24/7! If you have any questions,

HERSHEY TRACK MEET
This track meet is for children currently in third
through sixth grades. This •free track meet is the first
step in qualifying for the state meet. A minimum of
five Iowa children will receive an all-expense paid trip
to the national meet courtesy of Hershey Chocolate
Company. Events include 50, 100, 200, 400, 800 and 1600-
meter runs, 4 X 100-meter relays, standing long jump
and softball throw. Registration Dates: Registration will
be done during PE Classes. Program Dates: Wednes-
day, May 16, 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. (6th grade); Pro-
gram Dates: Friday, May 25, 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (3rd
to 5th grade); Location: Norwalk High School Track;
Cost: Free.
BIKE SAFETY DAY
The Norwalk Police Department, Norwalk Fire De-
partment, along with Norwalk Parks and Recreation is
sponsoring a Bike Safety Day. Participants will bring
their bikes to the Norwalk Police Department parking
lot and get their bike inspected and ride the safety
course. After the safety course, the Mayor will lead a
bike ride in the area surrounding the Public Safety Build-
ing. Each registered child (ages 5 to fifth grade) will have
a chance to win miscellaneous prizes. Drawing will take
place during lunch and you must be present to win.

Saturday, May 19; Time: 10 a.m.; Location: Norwalk
Public Safety Building; Equipment Needed: Your Bi-
cycle; Cost: FREE.
PEE WEE TEE BALL (KINDERGARTEN)
This program is for children who are currently in
Kindergarten. This is a coed program. The children will
have fun playing while learning the fundamentals of
tee ball. Volunteer coaches will be needed, and there
will be two weeks of practice and four weeks of games
(dependent on number of teams). Registration Dates:
May 7 through May 18; Nights: Tuesday/Thursday; Pro-
gram Begins: Week of July 9 (weather permitting); Time:
6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Location: Norwalk-McAninch Sports

BAM BAM BLAST BALL (Pre-K)
This program is for children who are currently 4 and
5 years old NOT in Kindergarten. This is a coed league.
The children will have fun playing while learning the
fundamentals of tee ball. Bam Bam Blast Ball is a sim-
plified version of tee ball. The kids hit off a tee and run
to first base, which honks when they jump on it. Volun-
teer coaches will be needed, and there will be one week
of practice and four or five weeks of games (dependent
on number of teams). Registration Dates: May 7
through May 18; Nights: Tuesday or Thursday; Program

DOG OBEDIENCE SCHOOL
This is a basic obedience class using reward based
training methods. We will cover simple commands such
as sit, down, coming when called and loose leash walk-
ing. The class will also focus on correcting Common Be-
havior Problems like jumping, chewing, bolting and
potty issues. The class will also include some tricks to
show off to your friends. Dogs must be at least six
months old to attend and current on all vaccinations.

HOME EQUITY OF CREDIT:
Children are welcome to attend, but a responsible adult
should be the main person working with the dog. This
class is a good beginning step to other training classes
such as Therapy or Agility. But the most important as-
pect of the class is that it is a fun bonding experience for
you and your dog. The class is taught by a certified dog
trainer with 5 years of experience in personal in-home
dog training and dog training classes, Tools needed for
the class will be a nylon or leather collar and leash, your
dog's favorite treats and a positive attitude. Choke
chains, prong collars and flexi-leads will not be allowed
for use in class. This class will be held outside so wear

This is a slow pitch recreation league and a 12-inch
softball will be used. Rosters must contain a minimum
of 10 players and no more than 20 players. Players must
be 18 years old and out of high school. Umpires pro-
vided. Eight weeks of play, depending upon number of
