Page Four N/Warren Town and County News Thursday, May 13, 2010 Spencer Hutchinson Spencer Hutchinson has completed an out- standing wrestling season. He was a two-time state champ dominating his brackets in both the Grade School and AAU State Tournaments and placing second in USA State. Hutchinson earned All- American status by plac- ing in national tourna- ments in Kansas City and Tulsa, OK. He ended his season by being selected to wrestle on Team Iowa in Kingsport, TN and bring- ing home the National Championship and again earning All-American sta- tus. ................................... Kaitlyn Goldizen has received the Founder's Scholarship from AIB Col- lege of Business in Des Moines. Goldizen will major in Accounting. She is the daughter of Katy and Greg Goldizen of Norwalk. Goldizen currently at- tends Norwalk., High School. To qualify for the Founder's Scholarship, high school seniors must have a 3.75 cumulative grade point average and/ or be in the top 10 percent in their class and/or have scored a 28 or higher in the ACT. Named after Everett O. Fenton, founder of AIB in 1921, the scholarship is available to incoming first- year students who meet scholarship requirements and attend AIB immedi- [ Norwalk 4-H All Stars NEIGHBORHOOD NOTES The regular meeting of the Norwalk 4-H All Stars Chief of Police Ed Kuhl has advised the addition of two storm/emergency sirens around the Norwalk area. The one pictured is located between Norwalk and Cumming on G14 Hwy. The second is in the vicinity of 60 th Avenue west of the interstate exit for Cumming Norwalk. The new sirens will cover a larger area and are equipped to rotate when an alarm is received from the public safety and the 911 emergency offices. Chief Kuhl asks residents near the new storm/emergency sirens to call the police department at 981-0666 if they don't hear the alarms when they are tested on the first Saturday of each month. Treats were pro- vided by Griffin Harvey. This meeting was our Club Cookie Contest. Ev- eryone brought six cookies with their recipe and our guest judges made com- ment cards for each. POLICE REPORT Concluded from p. 3 Golden Valley Drive for a warrant request from the US Marshal Office. After searching the home, mis- cellaneous drug parapher- nalia, amino and brass knuckles were seized. Case is closed with an ar- rest by USMS. Officers stopped a ve- hicle in the 3500 block of 50 t" Avenue for insufficient headlights. The vehicle was impounded and Daniel Miller of Norwalk was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia, driv- ing under suspension and failure to prove proof of insurance. May 5 An officer was dis- patched to the area of Wakonda Drive and Golden Valley Drive to in- vestigate a Property dam- age accident. A vehicle driven by Julie Marie Kestel of Norwalk struck the right rear of a vehicle driven by Joan Marie Starace, also of Norwalk.
