The following motions were made, seconded, and approved:
• Approved entering into closed session at 6:05 p.m. as provided under Iowa
Code Section 21.5 (1)(e) to conduct a hearing to consider disciplinary action
against students and to review and discuss records which are required by state
and federal law to be maintained confidentially pursuant to Iowa Code Section
21.5 (1) (a).
The Board returned to open session at 6:25 p.m.
• Approved expulsion of Student A from attendance at any Norwalk Commu-
nity School District school, school grounds, school programs, and school activi-
ties and functions for the remainder of the 2012-2013 school year and the first
semester of the 201-3-2014 school year for violation of student rules contained in
Board Policies 502.5rl, 502.5, 502.1,502.2, and 502.3.
• Approved expulsion of Student B from attendance at any Norwalk Commu-

Katherine Schmidt joined the meeting in progress at 5:06.
The following motions were made, seconded, and approved:
• Approved going into closed session as provided under Iowa Code Chapter
21.5, Section (1), Subsection (j) for the Purposes of School Property Sale Dis-
cussions.
The Board returned to open session at 6:00 p.m.
• Approved the Consent Agenda.
• Approved an agreement with Orchard Place/Child Guidance Center to pro-
vide School-Based Mental Health Services.
• Approved the actual move of the District Office from 906 S(~hool Avenue to
380 Wright Road soon after July 5t".
• Approved publication of advertisement to accept proposals for 906 School
Avenue property sale.
• Approved the Electrical Engineer Agreement with Veenstra & Kimml Inc. to
provide design and construction engineering services on the project to con-
struct fiber optics cable between 380 Wright Road and Oviatt Elementary.
• Approved moving forward with the installation of the fiber optic cable once
the installation contractor has been chosen.
• Approved the FY2013 Certified Budget Amendment as published.
• Approved supplying high school teachers with Chromebooks and the nec-
essary professional development this upcoming school year (2013-2014), roll-
ing out the 1:1 initiative for the 2014-2015 school year with Chromebooks for all
9t"-12th grade students, and keeping the option open to include 8t" grade student
as well.
• Approved the changes to the Elementary, Middle School, Eastview, and
High School student handbooks for 2013-2014.
• Approved the student teaching agreements with the College of saint Mary,
University of Phoenix, and Northwest Missouri State University. • Approved the FY2012 Financial Audit Report.
• Approved the 2013-2014 student fees as recommended.
• Approved going into closed session as provided under Iowa Code Chapter
21.5, Section (1), Subsection- (a), (i) for the Purposes of Superintendent Goal
and Salary Review at 8:48 p.m.
The Board returned to open session at 9:38 p.m.
• Approved the recommended 2013-2014 salary increases for administra-
tors and supervisors to be equal to the teachers' salary package of 3.81%.
The meeting was adjourned at 9:45 p.m.
