Registration forms for events are available 24 hours
a day at the Parks and Recreation office (1100
Chatham Avenue, inside the Norwalk Public Safety
Building) or print them off our website:
www.norwalk.iowa.gov. You can mail registration
forms, place them in our drop box, or walk in. Office
hours are 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.
The drop box is open 24/7. If you have any questions,
please call us at 515-981-9206. On-line registration
is also available on our website: www.norwalk.
iowa.gov.
We are now accepting Park Shelter House
reservations through October, and Pool Party
reservations for the 2019 season.
We are currently accepting applications for
the following seasonal positions: Youth
Baseball/Softball Umpires, Youth Soccer
Referees, Lifeguards, Swim Instructors, Pool
Maintenance, Pool Concessions/Admissions,
Sports Complex Tournament Crew. For more

{YEL!} Project Runway Sewing Camp
{YEL!} Project Runway Sewing Camp follows four
basic principles: TEACH IT! Students are taught
multiple hand and machine sewing techniques;
PRACTICE IT! Students practice those techniques
on basic projects; SEW IT! Students increase their
skill and sew more complicated projects; OWN
IT! Students showcase their projects on the last day
of class (family and friends are invited), then take
everything home with them to walk the runway of
everyday life! They will make a swimsuit cover up,
mini messenger bag, ear bud case, and they will
receive a personalized sewer's handbook. Sign up

Junior Golf Lessons
Calling all beginner or experienced youth golfers!
Brett West, Winterset High School Boys Golf Coach,
is back in Norwalk to teach the life-long game of golfi
These instructional lessons will focus on, and break
down, each part of the golf swing! Different types of
shots and situations will be taught, ultimately
enhancing your golf skill level. Program dates: June
17 - June 20, rain date June 21.
Chess Summer Camp
Brent Walker, retired Norwalk HS teacher, will
provide fun, informative and challenging chess
lessons to students from the surrounding area. Chess
is a fun game with lots of moves to improve student's
logic, concentration, and critical-thinking skills along
with important life concepts such as the ability to
win graciously and accept defeat with dignity and
sportsmanship. At the end of the camp, the student
will receive a t-shirt and participate in a mini-chess
tournament with a trophy'to the winner. This camp
is open to all ages: 1st grade thru 12th grade (just
completed). Program dates June 17-21.
Youth Tennis Lessons
Join TJ Cox, the Valley High School Coach, for
summer tennis lessons! These lessons are
instructional and offer your child an introduction into
the game of tennis. Grade is determined by the grade
just completed. This program is for grades 1st
through 8th. Program dates June 17-20, July 8-11.
Munchkin Tennis Lessons
Here is a fun and social way to introduce your child
to the game of tennis. The scaled down net, posts,
and racquets are designed for young children ages 4
to 6 years old. With the new courts, only non-marking
soles on athletic footwear, no black soles and/or hard-
soled street shoes allowed. No gum, food, beverage
or tobacco products allowed. Program dates June 17-
20, July 8-11.

OPALS - Older People with
Active Life Styles
Senior Citizen Exercise
Everyone ages 55 and older is invited to attend a
free exercise program that will include stretching and
toning. We will meet at Christ Our Savior Lutheran
Church (new location) located at 515 Sunset Drive.
Registration is not required. This is a con uous
program every Monday and Wednesday from 10-
10:30 a.m.
