OBITUARY
FREDRICK (RICK) LANGEN
A memorial service was held in Des Moines Thurs-
day, June 3, for Fredrick (Rick) Langen, 47, who died
Saturday, May 29, at home in Cumming from colon can-
cer.
Mr. Langen was born in Heidelberg, Germany to
Friedrich (Fritz) and Christa Langen. He was a unique
person and gave opinions and "advice" freely.
Survivors include his wife, Donita and mother-in-law,
Janice Ward. He was preceded in death by his parents.

OBITUARY
LEO WARD LUKES
Services and burial were held in Pleasantville Thurs-
day, June 3, for Leo Ward Lukes, 87, Des Moines, who
died Tuesday, June 1, at Mercy Medical Center in Des
Moines.
Mr. Lukes was a World War II Veteran and worked at
the Amoco in Carlisle from 1967 until his retirement in
1989.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine; son, Bob (Betty)
Minella of Norwalk; grandchildren, Jason (Cheri)
Minella of St. Marys, Gracia (Scott). Anderson of St.
Charles, Allison (John) Jacobson of West Des Moines;
nine great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and neph-
ews.
Memorials may be made to the Fellowship Commu-
nity Church in Norwalk.
OBITUARY
KATHRYN (BROWN) TAYLOR
Services and burial were held in Indianola Saturday,
June 5, for Kathryn (Brown) Taylor, 69, who died at her
home in New Virginia Wednesday, June 2.
Survivors include her husband, Herbert Taylor Jr.;
sons, Nicholas (Kimberly) Brown of Omaha, NE, Doug
(Becky) Taylor of Ankeny, Mike (Becky) Taylor of
Norwalk and Jody (Jaci) Taylor of New Virginia; brother,
Leonard (Betty) Waiters of Lake Ozark, MO; 12 grand-
children and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph
Brown; parents, William "Ted" and Edna Walters and
sister, Marleen Wood Miller.
