Courtney Johnson showed us how to make a flower planter out of a rain gutter. The regular meeting of the Norwalk 4-H All Stars was held May 5, 2013 at the Norwalk Public Library. The meeting was called to order by President Alex Bennett. Nicole Good led the Pledge of Allegiance. Roll call was answered by 11 members stating the color of their bedroom. Nicole Alexander read the min- utes from the April meeting. The treasurer report was given by Courtney Johnson. Emily Bergan read the county newsletter. For Old Business members were told that the dona- tions for Children & Families of Iowa was completed. The officers would make a decision on booth decorat- ing and these would be made at the June meeting. New Business: Members were reminded of all the events that they could participate in at the County Fair, such as the Clothing Selection, Communication Judg- hag. It was discussed if we should participate in the flower judging at the county fair. Nicole Good made a motion for our club to purchase flowers and enter a exhibit. Breana Duffy seconded it. Sarah Bennett made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Logan Duffy sec- onded it. Will Bennett led the 4-H Pledge. Nicole Good did a demonstration on making fruit smoothies, Emily ergan on slap hitting in softball and Courtney Johnson )n making a gutter flower planter. Will Bennett and Nicole Good provided treats. Nlicole Alexander, Secretary Nicole Good made smoothies and shared them with everyone. Photos submitted. Annual FCC Rummage Sale Fellowship Community Church (FCC) will be hay- Indianola Thunder4-H Club Plants Flowers at Fairgrounds ing their annual rummage sale Friday, June 14, from 6-8 p.m. and again Satur- June 15, from 7 a.m,- 12 p.m. Come to FCC and see what treasures you can find. Everything is $.50 unless otherwise marked. All proceeds will go to the Mexico Mercy fund. This fund will help a group that is going to Tijuana, Mexico. The shel- ter that was built in the FCC parking lot, for recy- cling cans a nd bottles, is the same shelter that will be built for needy families in Tijuana. The goal is to build 16 shelters during the week they are there. Pictures of the previous trips to Tijuana will be available to look at. The lndianola Thunder 4-H Club recently planted flowers at the entrance to the Warren County Fairgrounds as one of their community service projects. Keith and Susan Lingwall Keith and Susan Lingwall of Norwalk will be celebrat- ing their 50th wedding amaiversary Sunda36 June 16, with family and friends. The couple grew up in Des Moines and graduated from East High School, where they met. They were marriedSunda June 16, 1963 at Grant Park Christian Church in Des Moines. Pastor Lingwall currently serves as co-pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Martensdale, but throughout their married life, the family lived in Ontario, Kansas and Colorado, as well as other Iowa communities where he served those parishes. Hosting a special celebration are their children and their families, Beth and Eric Carlson, Greta and Ben- jamin of Clive, Jill and John Farmer, Peyton and Jane of St. Louis, MO, Jon Lingwall, Conlan and Alex of Norwalk and Annie and Dave Harnett, Brynn and Daley of Denver, CO.
