The purpose of the camp was to create ac- tivities that would center around teaming, cooperation and problem solving. Leadership Academy has taken the place of student senate in the 6-7 building and has a curriculum based off of "Capturing Kid's Hearts" The students have met weekly all year to learn about what leadership is and to practice those skills. The camp was designed for a culminating learning experience for them. Leadership members, SADD members and 8th grade student senate members attended the day camp. Ac- tivities included rope knots, canoeing, fishing, eating lunch connected to all other members of the group, cre- ating a floating object in a cooperative setting and a trust walk. The day was filled with laughter and awesome teaming. Sponsors of Leadership Academy are Lynda Downs and Melissa Stoulil. Teresa Davidson and Beth Ward also helped to chaperone for the day.
