You can mail registration forms, place them in our drop box or walk in. Our office is located at 1100 Chatham Ave. (Public Safety Bldg.). Of- rice hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. The park is now open on weekends. MENACE SOCCER CAMP Join members of the Des Moines Menace - Iowa's Premier Soccer Team - for a fun camp experience June 23-26 at the Norwalk-McAninch Sports Complex. Camp is open for ages 3-14. Camp runs from 9-10 a.m. for ages 3-4 ($60 registration), from 10-11:30 a.m. for ages 5-8 ($80 registration) and from 9-11:30 a.m. for ages 9-14 ($100 registration). Participants receive a soccer ball, Menace t-shirt and two tickets.to attend a Menace game at Valley StadiUm. STEP BENCH AEROBICS/INTERVAL This is a class of high energy aerobic routines inter- spersed with intense cardio segments and followed by a recovery period. Class will improve cardio condition- ing. NORWALK FAMILY TAE KWON DO Maria Boden is the new head instructor of the school which is under new ownership and offers programs for ages 5 through adults. The classes are separated by rank (beginners and advanced) and students meet twice a week. Class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at Oviatt gym (6 p.m. start) or Multi-purpose room (7 p.m. start). Times will vary depending on location due to school activities. We also offer our Little Dragon program designed for children ages 5 to 7. Little Dragons meet twice a week. This program is run concurrently with the begin- ning class. All programs consist of hand and foot techniques, forms, self-defense and lessons and instructions on top- ics such as respect, self-discipline and perseverance. Competition is also available for those students who are interested. Competition teaches sportsmanship, gives confidence and allows the students rouse the skills they have learned in class. Families are strongly encouraged to join and train together. We found that the kids learn better when one or both of their parents/guardians are learning along- side of them in class. (Dates could vary due to school functions/con- . certs). NORWALK JUNIOR POLICE ,aCADEMY The Norwalk Police Department is again conducting the Junior Police Academy for the City of Norwalk. The program is a partnership between the Parks and Recre- ation Department and the Norwalk Police and is an opportunity for the police officers to build a positive bridge with the youth of the community. Cadets will take part in fingerprinting, investigating a crime scene, taking photos, casting footprints and running an obstacle course: Each student will receive a t-shirt at the end of the week.
