Thursday, June 19, 2014 N/Warren Town andCounty News Page Five Norwalk 4-H All Stars June 8, 2014 The regular meeting for the Norwalk 4-H All Stars was held June 8 at the Norwalk-Easter Public Library. The meeting was called to order by Alex Bennett. Courtney Johnson led the Pledge of Allegiance and Alex Bennett led the 47H Pledge. Roll call was taken by an- swering the question, "What is the one project you will be taking to the Warren County Fair?" Eight members and one guest were present. An overview of the May meeting was given by NicOle Good. The treasurer's report was given by Courtney Johnson. Courtney Johnson read the 4-H Newsletter. The topic for New Business was the Warren County Fair entry sign ups, booth decorating and fair book rules. Breana Duff/ made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Logan Duff/ seconded it. Breana Duff/and Logan Duffy were the hbsts. Sara Bennett demonstrated how to make a clothes pin wreath. Respectfully submitted, Nicole Good, Secretary Start. the day off right! CHURCH and SOCIAL) Norwalk Christian Church Announces The Norwalk Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) is excited to announce the start of two ministers. Rev. Travis Stanley and Rev. Marti Stanley began their rniff- istry in Norwalk Monday, June t6, with their first Sun- day being June 22 at the 8:30 and 10!30 a.m. services. In between services, a potluck brunch will Joe served to welcome Travis, Marti and their family to Norwalk. Travis grew up in Niceville, FL and Marti in Tuscaloosa, AL. They met while in college and married the summer after graduation. They have been married for11 years. They have a daughter Taylor, age bight, who will be entering third.grade who likes art, My Little Ponies and animals; a son Finn, age four, who likes racecars, superheroes and his rock collection; and a dog named Maggie, .who likes Greenies and begging for people food. They are moving from Abilene, TX to Norwalk. Both Travis and Marti have parents who grew up in Missouri, so the Midwest is in their blood. Travis says, "Though we have spent our married life in Texas and Louisiana, we are ready for something new and excit- ing." Marti adds, "Our ministry experiences have been wonderful and our calling to the Christian Church (Djs- ,j ciples of Christ) has been confirmed. It was Our goal to one day co-pastor a church together." Travis and Marti are thrilled to be joining the Norwalk Community and look forward to the opportunity to serve in ministry in Norwalk. Travis graduated May 2005 from the Abilene Chris- tian University Graduate School of TheologN Abilene, TX, with a Master of Divinity and was the Valedictorian of his Seminary Class. He graduated May 2002 from Lipscomb University, Nashville, TN., with a BA in Bible/ Preaching. He has served both full and part-time at churches in Florida, Alabama, Tennessee and Texas, working with youth, college students, community out- reach and adult education. She is currently a Commissioned Minister in the Chris- tian Church (Disciples of.Christ) Southwest Region Serv- ing a church in Alban35 TX as Youth Minister.
