SCHOq )L and SPORTS Norwalk Warriors I Official Publication for the Norwalk Community School District Page Eight N/Warren Town and County News Thursday, June 20, 2013 Eastview 8th Graders Travel to Washington D.C. Fifty-one 8th graders traveled to Washington D.C. June 4-6. Students began their trip with a visit to Gettysburg. They were able to explore the cemeteries and battlefields that they had just learned about in their curriculum. The evenings were spent viewing the various monuments such as the WWII, Lincoln, Jefferson, Pentagon, Korean and Vietnam memorials. Another day was spent visiting Mt. Vernon, Arlington Cemetery and the Holocaust Museum. When asked what the students enjoyed the most, they responded with the Holocaust Museum. Chaperones included Teresa Davidson, 8th grade American History teacher, Mark Augspurger, 7th grade World History teacher and Lynda Downs, 6th grade Social Studies teacher.
