The camp cost is $85 and includes a T-shirt. It is for all ages and for those living in the sur- rounding area. Cost for the four-person best shot 18 holes is $60 per person or $240 per foursome. The price in- cludes dinner, shirt and prizes. The fundraiser benefits the Norwalk Athletic Booster Club's General Fund. Norwalk Girls Softball The Lady Warriors have started off the season well. Their overall record is 9-5 and 3-2 in the Little Hawkeye Conference. Due to the rain, some games have been postponed. This past week, Monday's game against Knoxville was rained out. Tuesday evening the Lady Warriors came out swinging the bats against PCM (Prairie City-Monroe). In the bot- tom of the first inning, the players scored all eight runs. The game was rain shortened and ended after five innings. The Lady Warriors trav- eled to Pella last Wednes- day to take on Pella Chris- tian. DARE Golf Fundraiser The Warren County Sheriff's Office and the Norwalk Police Department are hosting their 9th Annual DARE Golf Fundraiser. This is a four-person best shot held at Rolling Hills Golf Course south of Norwalk Frida July 8, starting at 5 p.m. The fee is $40 per person and includes golf, cart, as well as prizes for various hole events and door prizes and silent auction. Registrations are available at the Rolling Hills Golf Course, Warren County Sheriff's Of- rice, the Norwalk Police Department, as well as various businesses. Registrations are due at either the Warren County Sheriff's Office or the Norwalk Police Depart- ment by Friday, July 1, at 5 p.m. Registrations are lim- ited to the first 80 golfers. All proceeds go to the Warren County Sheriff's Of- rice and Norwalk Police Department's DARE program. It seems to me that people have vast potential. Most people can do extradinary things if they have the con- fidence or take the risks. Yet most people don't. They sit in front of the telly and treat life as if it goes on forever. -Philip Adams
