The Only One - AAMI Exhibit continues. During
Library hours through July 5, a traveling exhibit from
the African American Museum of Iowa, The Only One
investigates what i£s like to be an African American in
Iowa. Through compelling stories and photographs,
visitors will learn about famous Iowans such as George
Washington Carver and the lesser known who went
about their lives across the state. While not.all people
can know the experience of being the only African
American in a group setting, this exhibit reminds us that
we've all felt the pride and sorrow of being different.
