place them in our drop box or walk in. Our office is
located at 1100 Chatham Ave. (Public Safety Bldg.). Of-
fice hours are 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday.

ADVENTURELAND
Discount Adventureland tickets available for pur-
chase. Also arriving are the Zoo passes, Lost Island
passes and Worlds/Oceans of Fun passes.
REDUCED SWIM PASSES
Reduced swimming passes take effect July 1. Family
Residents pass will be $75.26 for the rest of the summer
with the Individual Residents pass being $37.63. (Non-
residents is $86.55/$43.28)
Lap Swim Hours for Adults
Adults who wish to swim laps may do so from noon
to I p.m. seven days a week and from 5 to 6 p.m. Satur-
days and Sundays. Cost: $1 (tax included; free w/a sea-
son pass)
Wet and Wild Club
The Wet and Wild club is for students who have com-
pleted grades 5th through 7th. They meet Monday
nights until August 13 from 8:30 to 10 p.m. Cost: $2.50/
night (tax included: sea-son passes not good for this
activity)

NORWALK JUNIOR POLICE ACADEMY
The Norwalk Police Department is again conducting
the Junior Police Academy for the City of Norwalk. The
program is a partnership between the Parks and Recre-
ation Department and the Norwalk Police and is an
opportunity for the police officers to build a positive
bridge with the youth of the community. Cadets will
take part in fingerprinting, investigating a crime scene,
taking photos, casting footprints and running an obstacle
course. Each student will receive a t-shirt at the end of
the week. Registration Dates: Through June 29; Pro-
gram Dates:July 17 through July 20 (students who corn-

NORWALK JUNIOR FIRE SCHOOL
Learn basic firefighter skills to include use of fire
hoses, ladders, hand tools, fire investigation and breath-
ing apparatus training. Basic first aid and ambulance
equipment will also be demonstrated. Fire department
staff will be coordinating this fun program. Registra-
tion Dates: Through June 29; Program Dates: July 25
through July 28 (students who completed 3rd through
6th grades); Time: 10 a.m. to noon; Location: Norwalk
Public Safety Building; Cost: Norwalk residents $23,

FALL SOCCER 2012
This program is for children entering first through
seventh grades. Soccer is a great aerobic sport and many
children enjoy playing the game because of the constant
motion. Shin guards are required to participate in this
sport. Parks and Rec provides a team shirt. This is a six-
week program including one game and one practice
each week. Volunteer coaches will be needed. Divi-
sions: 1st and 2nd Grade Boys: 4 vs. 4 - Play on Mon-
day and Thursday; 1st and 2nd Grade Girls: 4 vs. 4 -
Play on Tuesday and Friday; 3rd and 4th Grade Coed: 8
vs. 8 - Play on Monday and Thursday; 5th-7th Grade
Coed: 8 vs. 8- Play on Tuesday and Friday; (Game nights
are tentative). Registration Dates: Through July 6; .Pro-
gram Begins: Week of August 20 (tent-atively); Time: 6

dergarten. The children will have fun while learning

This program is for children 4 or 5 years old that are
NOT starting Kindergarten yet. This is a coed league.
The children will have fun while learning the funda-
mentals of soccer. The skills of dribbling, passing and
shooting will be introduced. Volunteer coaches will be
needed. There will be one week of practice and five
weeks of practice/games. Registration Dates: Through
July 6; Days: Mondays or Wednesdays (you choose first
choice); Program Begins: Week of August 20 (tenta-
tively); Time: 6 p.m.; Location: Norwalk-McAninch

PEEWEE FLAG FOOTBALL
This fundamental program is for children entering
1st and 2nd grade this coming school year. Children will
learn offensive and defensive fundamentals of football.
Parks and Rec provides a team shirt. This is a six-week
program; players will have practices/games twice per
week. The number of participants will determine the
exact nights. This is due to limited field,space. Volun-
teer coaches will be needed. Registration Dates:

Flag football is for children entering 3rd through 5th
grades this coming school year. Childrerf will be placed
on teams and will play each other. Volunteer coaches
for teams will be accepted. Registration Dates: Through
July 6; Program Dates: August 28 through October 4
(tentatively) (depends when school starts); Days: Tues-
day and Thursday; Time: 3:15 to 4:15 p.m.; Location:
Lakewood Elementary; Equipment Needed: Mouth-
piece; Instructors: Dan Beermann and Jeff Lucas; Cost: ~'-~,

mum/Maximum: 20.
DOG OBEDIENCE SCHOOL
This is a basic obedience class using reward based
training methods. We will cover simple commands such
as sit, down, coming when called and loose leash walk-
ing. The class will also focus on correcting Common Be-
havior Problems like jumping, chewing, bolting and
potty issues. The class will also include some tricks to
show off to your friends. Dogs must be at least six
months old toattend and current on all vaccinations.
Children are welcome to attend, but a responsible adult
should be the main person working with the dog. This
class is a good beginning step to other training classes
such as Therapy or Agility. But the most important as-
pect of the class is that it is a fun bonding experience for
you and your dog. The class is taught by a certified dog
trainer with five years of experience in personal in-home
dog training and dog training classes. Tools needed for
the class will be a nylon or leather collar and leash, your
dog's favorite treats and a positive attitude. Choke
chains, prong collars and flexi-leads will not be allowed
for use in class. This class will be held outside so wear

BRICKS 4 KIDZ SUMMER CAMP
Bricks 4 Kidz programs are kid-tested and educator-
approved to deliver valuable learning experiences that
correlate to a variety of cross-disciplinary curriculum
objectives. Using LEGO bricks, your student will build
in teams, Bricks 4 Kidz models. Kids will get a t-shirt
and a mini figure to take home.
