mencement May 27 in
Waverly.
May graduates in-
cluded JoHanna Smrcina,

Susan Smrcina, Norwalk.
She earned a B.A Magna
Cum Laude, with a social
work major
Graduates also in-
cluded John Maybee, son
of the Rev. Timothy and
Bette Maybee of Huxley,
formerly of Norwalk.
Maybee, a 2008 graduate
of Norwalk High School,
received a B.A. with a psy-
chology major.
Clarke University in
Dubuque awarded de-
grees and honors at its
169th Commencement
Ceremony Saturday, May
12.
Honored at the cer-
emony was Elizabeth
Sherer, BS, Athletic Train-
ing, Spring Hill.
The University of Wis-
consin-Madison has recog-
nized students named to
the Dean's List for the
spring semester of the
2011-2012 academic year.
Students who achieve
at a high level academi-
cally are recognized by the
dean at the close of each
semester. To be eligible for
the Dean's List, students
must complete a mini-
mum of 12 graded degree
credits in that semester.
Each university school or
college sets its own GPA
requirements.for students
to be eligible to receive the
honor.

The following area stu-
dent was named to the
Dean's List at Clarke Uni-
versity in Dubuque for the
spring 2012 semester. The
list recognizes full-time
Clarke students who have
earned a 3.65 grade point
average or above, on a 4.0
scale, with a minimum of
12 graded hours.

Recognition for out-
standing academic ach-
ievement has been given to
the following Grand View
University students for the
2012 spring semester in
Des Moines.
The students are named
to the President's List for
earning a grade point av-
erage of 4.0 while carrying
at least 12 hours of classes.

are Makenzie Reed and
Alyssa Turnquist of Nor-
walk and Justin Gutknecht
of Cumming.
Students named to the
Dean's List for earning a
grade point average of 3.5
or better on a 4.0 scale while
carrying at least 12 hours of

Kirsten Houk, Heidi Hoyt,
Ara May Hubbard, Steph-
