1 Thursday, June 28, 2012 N/waffen Town and County News Page Seven Norwalk's Independence Day Schedule of Events Parade Marshal: Mark Miller Sparklers, Alcohol, Tobacco i And Pets Are Not Allowed At The Norwalk-McAninch Sports Complex Tuesday, July 3- "Party Before the Works" *7 p.m.- Midnight, The Wright Place parking lot, 340 Wright Road, Norwalk sponsored by Norwalk Area Chamber of Commerce, rain or shine. Live music by Final Mix at 7:30 p.m. Cost: $5 admission with children 6 and under, free. (No special activities for children this year). Food and beverage will be available for purchase. NO COOLERS are allowed. Bring lawn chairs and blankets. Nearby parking available. Wednesday, July 4- Various Activities *7 a.m. - Pancake breakfast is hosted by members of Good Will Chapter Order of the Eastern Star at the Masonic Hall on Main Street. Serving is from 7 a.m. until just prior to the start of the parade at 10 a.m. Cost for pancakes, sausage and drink is $5. The event is open to the public. "10 a.m. Parade. Entry forms available at site of parade lineup, Norwalk High School parking lot. (Parade route published on page one of this issue.) "11 a.m. to Noon- Sydney Lett, popular 15-year-old vocalist from Des Moines will perform. *Noon to approximately 3:30 p.m. - Activities in City Park on North Avenue. Various game and vender booths, food and snacks. Bingo with Black-Out Bingo at 3 p.m. in park shelter sponsored by Norwalk Lions Club. Booth registration forms are available at City Hall Or call Pat Wahl at 981-4928 or email her at TCFestival@aol.com. *Immediately following parade- Norwalk Easter Public Library/City Park- Games, funny photo booth, bounce houses, candy guessing contests, movies. Entrance fee: $5 per person, children under one year free. Money will be used to fund next year's summer reading program. *Dusk - (approximately 9 p.m.) Metro's Finest Fireworks Display by Norwalk Lions Club at McAninch Sports Complex on Wright Road. No admission or parking charge, but donations accepted at gate to help defray costs of fireworks. Concession stand will be open for snacks and drinks. Bring lawn chairs and blankets.
