Norwalk Warriors I Official Publication for the Norwalk Community School District I Page Eight N/Warren Town and County News Thursday, July 13, 2017 Norwalk Elementary PTO Receives Grant Spring Recital Norwalk Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is pleased to have received a $5,000 grant from Warren County Philanthropic'Partnership. Norwalk Elementary Parent Teacher Organization was one of 22 non-profit organizations in Warren County to receive a grant this year. The grant money will be used to replace/upgrade the interactive touch sports wall at Lakewood Elementary. Their $5,0000 grant was part of more than $86,500 WCPP awarded thisyear. WCPP grants were given as finishing dollars for projects totaling more than $250,000 in 2017 - money that is invested back in the Warren County communities for the betterment of the county. Norwalk Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is a 501(c)3 organization created to support Oviatt and Lakewood Elementary Schools in the Norwalk Community School district. "Norwalk PTO is proud toreceive this grant to match funds we have raised to replace the broken interactive touch sports wall at .... L al ewood Elementary. This wall is used by many students in the community for sports camps and activities, in addition to the students at Lakewood who use it during their physical education time," said Amanda Fletcher, Vice President, Norwalk Elementary Parent Teacher Organizatiom Warren County Philanthropic Partnership, an affiliate of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines, has served Warren County for 12 years.
