Pyper Cirksena Crowned Junior Miss Iowa
Submitted by Renee Cirksena
Pyper Jo Cirksena, 11, of Norwalk is
the newly crowned Junior Miss Iowa.
She was one of the many hopeful
contestants competing for the title at the
Muscatine Performing Arts Center on
July 14.
The pageant consists of five categories
of competition: private interview,
onstage question, talent, casual wear,
and party dress.
Along with being crowned Junior Miss
Iowa, Pyper also received the top junior
scores for interview and talent.
Pyper is a sixth grader at Norwalk
Middle School, and the daughter of Dean
and Renee Cirksena of Norwalk.
Pyper was excited to win the crown as
this was her first pageant. Pyper's
platform for the competition was Seeing the World Through Special Eyes, a
focus on special needs. Pyper is anxious to spread her ideas of inclusion
throughout Iowa during her year of serving as Junior Miss Iowa. In addition,
she will make appearances at events around the state and participate in
community service opportunities.
As for her future, Pyper plans to go on to compete for Miss Iowa's Outstanding
Teen when she is old enough.
