Box 325, Norwalk, IA 50211 Norwa! ciHz eUn?UCH ' ldk?SxiOcoC IM00rLy!rojec t Last Week, a group of Norwalk youth and adults traveled to Tijuana, Mexico for a week-long mission trip to build houses for needy families. They worked with a group called Mexico Caravari Ministries. The 12'X12' structures they built are small and simple compared to our standard, but the people of Tijuana call them home and are very thankful. After returning from this life-changing experience last year, the team built one of these structures in the parking lot of Fellowship Community Church to show what'one of these houses actually looks like. The "house" now serves as a drop-off location for the recycling of cans/bottles. All you need to do is put your cans/bottles in a bag and put them through the drop off window in the house. All the money re- ceived will go towards the building supplies needed for building additional houses in Tijuana when a group returns annually to Mexico each July. The cost for construction material for each structure is $800. Two years ago, the team built eight homes. This year, they doubled their goal to building 16 houses and met their goal! It is hoped that the money to build these homes will continue to be raised through the generous do- nations of Norwalk resi- dents and anyone inter- ested in donating towards blessing families in Mexico with new homes. To learn more about the Mexico Mercy Project at Fellowship Community Church, contact Janice Gutknecht at 981-9106, or call the church office at 981-0699. Fellowship Community Church is lo- cated at 225 North Avenue in Norwalk. Mexico team. Photos submitted.
