OBITUARY
KEITH MCCONNELL
Services were held
Monday, July 28, at Mar-
tensdale Community
Church for Keith (Whitey)
McConnell, 75, Prole, who
died Thursday, July 24, at
Kavanagh House in Des
Moines following 18
months of battling cancer.
Burial was in Wallace
Cemetery in Wick. He was
known as "Mayor of Pro-
le'.
Keith Eugene McCon-
nell was born September 5,
1938 on a farm near Prole
to Alice (Lee) and Fay Mc-
Connell. He attended a
country school for nine
years, then Dover Elemen-
tary, graduating from
Martensdale High School
in 1958. He attended
Drake University and
worked 37 years at Arm-
strong Tire and Rubber. He
served in the United States
Army Reserves for two
and a half years.
Some of Mr. McCon-
nell's childhood memories
included annuaI Bible
camp,: County Fair, State
Fair with Uncle Milt, his
horses and car racing. Lat-
er it was sports of every
kind, corvettes and car rac-
ing. In his Golden years, he
liked playing cards and
pool at his winter home in
Alamo, TX and Cutty's in
Des Moines and great con-
versations. He was a Ma-
son for many years and a
member of Eastgate Lodge

#630, Scottish Rite Lodge
and Za-Ga-Zig Shrine.
Survivors include his
sisters, Helen Phillips of
Ames and Wilma (Chuck)
Seymour of Indianola;
long-time companion,
Marlene Woodard; ten
nieces and nephews; many
great-nieces and nephews
and great-great-nieces and
nephews; uncles and
aunts, Keith Eugene (Max-
ine) Lee and Paul (Phyllis)
Lee of Indianola and oth-
er family.
He wasrpreceded in
death by his parents; sister,
Dorothy; brother-in-law,
Robert Phillips and neph-
ew, Kyle Phillips.

gland, 48, Norwalk, en-
tered into rest Sunda July
27, surrounded by her
family and friends.
Celebration of Life Ser-
vices were held Saturday,
Aug. 2, at Fellowship
Community Church. Visi-
tation with the family was
held during a luncheon at
the church following buri-
al services at the Norwalk
Cemetery.
Mrs. England was a
fotmding member of Fel-
lowshi p Community
Church and co-founder of
Stepping Stones Pre-
school, both in Norwalk.
Survivors include-her
loving husband, Todd; two
wonderful children, Hunt-
er Ty and Lauren Rachel;
her parents, Edwin and
Jean Leichty; siblings, Sid-
ney, Barry (Joanie), Nancy
(Barry), Nanette (Ken) and
Scott (Kim), and a host of
aunts, uncles, nieces,

PAUL R. SHERIDAN II
Services were held Sat-
urday, July 26, in Des
Moines for Paul R.
Sheridan II, 58, Norwalk,
who died at his home
Tuesday, July 22. Burial
was at the Linn Grove
Cemetery.
Mr. Sheridan was born
July 3, 1956 to Paul and
Betty Sheridan' in
Warrensburg, MO. He
joined the Army after high,
school. He worked for
various companies, most
recently with Holt Sales
and Service where he en-
joyed his job and co-work-
ers.
Mr. Sheridan was an
avid Harley Davidson en-
thusiast, enjoyed hunting
with his friends and sons,
but most of all he loved
spending time with his
kids and grandchildren.
Survivors include his
wife, Sherry; children, Jus-
tin "Slim" (Tracey), Brian
"Brain" (Chrysti), Joel "Jo
Jo" (Meranda), Brittany
