Dan served on the commission since 2006, and feels one of the most notable tasks accomplished during his years of service was more planning with the water lines and being more proactive and less reactive. Last Chance to Register for NABC Golf Outing Last chance to register for the 12th annual Norwalk Athletic Booster Club Golf Outing. This year's outing will take place on August 24th at Warrior Run Golf Course. Tee times are filling up quickly in both the 7 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. tee times. We will have awesome prizes again this year! Upcoming Early Deadline and Closure at N/Warren Town and County News N/Warren Town and County News has an early deadline for an upcoming issue of the paper. We will have a deadline of Thursday, August 22rid at noon for the August 29th issue. Materials received after this deadline will be included in a later edition of the paper. Our office will be closed Friday, August 23rd. Annual Tootsie Roll Drive This Weekend The St. John the Apostle Catholic Knights of Columbus will be holding their annual Tootsie Roll Drive for those with intellectual disabilities the weekend of August 23rd, 24th and 25th. Look for the Knights at various busi- nesses around Norwalk on those days. The donations collected will go to the Special Olympics of Iowa, Christian Opportunity Center of Warren County, and Genesis De- velopment of Warren County. Organized by Norwalk Hometown Pride, this family-friendly event supports community projects such as public art, the new Warren County Veterans Memorial and artistic bicycle racks for Elizabeth Holland Park and City Hall. The September 1st event at Warrior Run Golf Course, sponsored by Hometown Pride, City State Bank, Michael Foods, Diligent Development and Warrior Run, marks the second annual all day Music Fest, featuring free admission from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Besides a full-day of music featuring performers with ties to She area, added attractions for 2019 include a raffle with a 50/50 grand prize, a dunk tank, and the kids' zone sponsored by Michael Foods. Here are details: 50/50 Raffle/Fun Prizes All Day Long - This first-time activity for Music Fest gives you a chance to purchase raffle tickets all day for prizes and gift cards from many Norwalk-area businesses. Before the closing act, one lucky prizewinner will get half the money raised during the day; the other half will be used by Norwalk Hometown Pride for community projects around the community.
