Salem Hildebrandt Earns Eagle Scout Award

Eagle Scout Court of
Honor was held for Salem
Hildebrandt to recognize
him for earning the Eagle
Scout rank. Hildebrandt,
14, is the son of Scott and
Connie Hildebrandt of
Norwalk. The ceremony
was held at Fellowship
Community Church and
was attended by family,
friends and members of
Norwalk Boy Scout Troop
30.
Pastor Alan Stanley led
the opening and closing
prayers. Boy Scout Troop
30 Scoutmaster Ron
Downing, Assistant
Scoutmasters Greg Jones,
Rory Taylor, Ben Kern,
Todd Osterhout, Scott
Hildebrandt, as well as
members of Troop 30, par-
ticipated in the ceztemony.
To become an Eagle
Scout, a Scout must earn a
minimum of 21 Merit

Salem Hildebrandt
earned 31 badges and con-
tinues working to earn
more. His Eagle Scout
project was the total recon-
struction of the fire pit and
bench se~iting at Lundy
Acres, a Warren County
park located at 7226 115th
Ave., just north of
Indianola.
Jason and Diana Briggs,
Norwalk, are the parents
of a son, Talan William,
born Friday, May 27, at
Iowa Methodist Medical
Center in Des Moines.
Talan weighed 7 lbs., 2
oz. and was 20 in. long.

Chloe weighed 8 lbs., 7
oz. and was 19 3/4 in. long.

Kelsey Mae Briggs and Brandon Leonard Cox
Tim and Carmen Briggs, Norwalk, announce the en-
gagement and approaching marriage of their daughter,
Kelsey Mae Briggs, to Brandon Leonard Cox, Coralville.
He is the son of Stacy and Burle Croy Jr., Norwalk.
Miss Briggs is a 2005 graduate of Norwalk High
School and a 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa
College of Nursing. She is employed in the Emergency
Room at Mercy Trauma in Cedar Rapids.
Mr. Cox is a 2006 graduate of Norwalk High School
and a 2008 graduate of Kirkwood Community College
in Business Administration. He is employed at Deery
Brothers in the parts department in Iowa City.
The couple will be married Saturday, Sept. 3, at Syl-
van Theater in Des Moines with a reception to follow in
Norwalk at The Wright Place.
