Norwalk Citizens Continue
Mexico Project
This July, a group of Norwalk high school students
and adults traveled to Tijuana, Mexico for a week-
long mission trip to build houses for families in need.
They worked With a group called Mexico Caravan
Ministries. The 12’X12’ structures they built are small
and simple compared to our standard, but the people
of Tijuana call them home and are very thankful.
One of the main ways funds are raised for these
homes are through the generous donations of
Norwalk residents through donating cans & bottles.
Thank you Norwalk, for joining in this life-changing
endeavor!
Fellowship Community Church built one of these
homes in the church’s parking lot several years ago
to show what one of these houses actually looks like.
The “house” now serves as a drop-off location for the
recycling of cans/bottles. All you need to do is put
your cans/bottles in a bag and put them through the
drop off Window in the house. All the money received
will go towards the building supplies needed for
building additional houses in Tijuana when a group
returns annually to Mexico each July. The cost for
construction material for each structure is $800+. The
team has been building homes in Mexico for the past
11 years (not in 2020), and have built on average 12-
18 homes per year! It is hoped that the money to
build these homes will continue to be raised through
the generous donations of Norwalk residents and
anyone interested in donating towards blessing
families in Mexico with new homes.
