Friday; and 10:00 a.m.-5:00 pm. on Saturday. We are closed on Sundays. Masks are highly recommended. The Library will be closed Monday September 6th in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen at 10am on Tuesday September 7th. The Reading Challenge Norwalk Easter Public Library’s first year-long reading challenge! Our monthly challenges will explore new classics, long-forgotten childhood favorites, or have you step outside your comfort zone. We’ll be set up in front of the library, just drop in any time from 2:00-3:30 pm. Adult Activities Geri-Fit®: Mondays and Wednesdays 8:30am: A 45-minute Video-led strength training exercise class designed for older adults. Most exercises are performed seated, with a set of light dumbbell weights. While designed for older adults, all fitness levels are welcome to participate. We provide the videos, equipment, and coaching. Participants should dress in sturdy shoes and comfortable clothing for movement. Participants are also encouraged to bring their own towel and water bottle. *Participants must complete a waiver before participating in the class. Repeat participants only need to fill out the form once. FDA Approves First COVID-19 Vaccine On August 23rd, the FDA authorized full approval for one COVID: 19 vaccine. The vaccine known as the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 Vaccine will now be marketed as Comirnaty for the prevention of COVID- 19 disease in individuals 16 years of age and older. The Comirnaty vaccine continues to be available under emergency use authorization (EUA) for individuals 12 through 15 years of age and for the administration of a third dose in certain immunocompromised individuals. More than 3 million doses of vaccine have been administered in Iowa and more than 1.5 million Iowans are fully vaccinated.
