Local boy, Tillman Papcun is the winner of the State PGA Golf Skills Championship. Saturday, Aug. 8, Tillman won first place in the boys PGA Golf Skills Challenge in Silvis IL. Tillman won both the local, held at Warrior Run, and the regional held at Sugar Creek, competitions this summer in Iowa to qualify for the State Com- petition. In recognition of win- ning the State PGA title, he will be an honored guest at the John Deer Classic tournament in 2016 and receive a personal meeting with the PGA players. Tillman has been play- ing golf since he was three and receives golf instruc- tion from his father and PGA golf instructors Mark Burke and Carol Nitzschke-Henrich at the Warrior Run Junior Golf program. Tillman is seven years old and is a first grader in Julie Brink's class at Oviatt Elementary. He lives in Cumming with his par- ents, Eric and Dawn Papcun and nine year old sister Elivia, who is also a golfer. She won the local and regional competitions this summer in Iowa and placed 10th in the state competition in Illinois.
